LG announces full lineup of smartphones to receive Ice Cream Sandwich
If you own one of LG’s top of the line smartphones, we have good news for you. The Korean phone manufacturer has just announced a list of its Android smartphones that will receive the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update.
In the past, LG announced that its Optimus 2X, the Guinness Book of World record-holder for the first dual-core mobile phone, would be getting the Ice Cream Sandwich update sometime in 2012. Although the complete lineup is smaller than one would think, the lineup consists of company’s high-end smartphones. These include the Optimus 2X, the Optimus 3D, and the Optimus Black. The Optimus LTE in the US will receive the update as well.
If you own an LG handset other than the smartphones mentioned above, you may be thinking that your handset will not be getting the update. Don’t worry though. The Korean firm is still deciding whether its other handsets will receive the ICS update or not.
In a statement, LG said, “We are also continuing to evaluate the ICS OS to determine whether it is compatible with the functionality, features and performance of other LG smartphones to make the ICS OS available on as many LG smartphones as possible.”
The company has promised to divulge more information whether the other phones on its range will receive ICS or not by December of this year. we’ll keep you posted once we know more.
