Contract Deals for a Free Nokia Lumia 800 Drop Further
The new Nokia Lumia smart phone has now been discounted again by retailers which has produced a new deal offering the phone free of charge, the Nokia Lumia 800 is now available on O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile and Orange contract deals and it’s T-Mobile that have the cheapest deal for a free phone.
This new cheapest deal for the Nokia Lumia 800 on T-Mobile is available on 4 of their contract tariffs with our favourite being the ‘T-Mobile £25 + Internet’ deal which includes a healthy 500MB of data every month, also included are 600 minutes that you can use to call any network at any time as well as 500 text messages all for £25.53 line rental per month.
The Nokia Lumia is the manufacturers first smart phone to feature the Windows operating system known as 7.5 Mango, this uses clever ‘Tiles’ on the main home screen to keep you updated with al of your favourite information, this could be updates from social networks, text messages, emails, news, weather and other services and automatically updates when the phone is connected to the internet or network.
Many may be forgiven for thinking that they’ve seen this phone before because the Nokia Lumia 800 looks very similar to the recently launched Nokia N9, however there are subtle differences in their minimalistic designs and the new Lumia can best be told apart by its 3 keys which sit just below the main display.
The main touch screen measures slightly smaller than the N9′s at 3.7 inches and uses Nokia’s ClearBlack technology for a deep and sharp contrast, the edges of the display almost seem to vanish seamlessly into the casing of the phone and the AMOLED technology makes for great screen viewing.
The Nokia Lumia offers an 8 mega pixel camera with Carl Ziess optics which can record video at 720p HD, there are also a couple of new developments included in this phone with one being Nokia Drive which lets you download maps for satellite navigation so that you do not need a 3G connection for your journey as well as Nokia’s new radio streaming and music service.
Powering this new device is a 1.4GHz processor with a 1450 mAh battery and 512MB of RAM, this may not sound a lot compared to phones like the Samsung Galaxy S2 with its 1.2GHz dual core chip or the HTC Sensation XE with a dual core 1.5GHz processor but it is more than adequate and keeps the price of the phone low to compete with the mid market segment.
The new Windows Mango OS is one of the most advanced available and gives the Nokia Lumia a far more modern and connected feel than that of the Android OS or new iOS5 of the iPhone 4S offerings, things are set to change soon though with the release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus showcasing the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS but we’ll have to wait and see how these software updates compare.
Connections can be made using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5G data, USB and GPS whilst new software can be downloaded from a growing choice of new applications.
There is also to be a cheaper Windows powered Nokia phone launched soon called the Nokia Lumia 710 for those on a tighter budget as well as different colour schemes for this 800 version with a magenta pink and cyan blue edition on their way soon.
