LG DoublePlay sports dual touchscreens

The Korean phone manufacturer LG has launched its new slider the DoublePlay on the US network operator T-Mobile. You may be thinking, big deal. There is one too many sliders in the market. However, this new smartphone offers a unique twist. It sports dual touchscreens.

The smartphone’s primary 3.5 inch display can be pushed up to reveal a secondary 2 inch touchscreen in between its QWERTY keyboard. The secondary display shows similar information like the primary display. It can show the same app, and it is also said to show a different app simultaneously. Cool! Getting to view two different apps at the same time is better than just being able to view one.

Specs of the LG DoublePlay include a 5 MP camera capable of recording videos in 720p, a 1 GHz single-core processor, it will run Gingerbread, and it will support 4G. Since the smartphone supports a 4G network, it might not land in the UK. It is possible, however, that a 3G version will be made available for our networks.

Does the dual touchscreen LG DoublePlay intrigue you, or would you rather go with conventional smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the HTC Sensation XE? Share your thoughts.
