Minecraft Pocket Edition now available to other Android devices other than XPERIA Play

Previously, Minecraft Pocket Edition for Android exclusively rolled out for the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play. This gave Play users bragging rights to the highly popular game. Now, this is no longer the case. The game has rolled out to a variety of Android-powered devices.

On the android Market, an update has rolled out to the app. The update makes the brick-laying game available for Android devices running at least the Android OS version 2.1 (Éclair). This means that phones such as the HTC Sensation XE and the Samsung Galaxy S2 can download and install the app. However, it does still say that Minecraft Pocket edition is still optimized for XPERIA handsets.

The game can be purchased in the Android Market for £4.29, just like when it was exclusively available for the XPERIA Play. Of course, if you’re unfamiliar with the Minecraft craze, you can opt to download the demo version to try it out first. You can then decide if you like the game or not.

If you’re unaware of the Minecraft phenomenon, where have you been? On its PC version, it topped the charts with more than 10 million registered users. You might want to get into all the brick-laying fun.
