2D to 3D app converter for the LG Optimus 3D rolling out this month

If you’re one of the owners of LG’s stereoscopic smartphone, the Optimus 3D, then you must be bummed knowing that there aren’t enough 3D games around. This is all about to change. The Korean phone manufacturer has promised us a 2D to 3D game converter engine back in August during the IFA 2011. The converter will be rolling out anytime during the month.

To convert 2D games into 3D, the games you play must use OpenGL. The game converter will come via an LG update, which is expected to arrive anytime soon. It will first roll out to Optimus 3Ds across Europe. It will then gradually roll out globally. This is all according to the Android Community.

The LG Optimus 3D update also includes additional 3D nuggets. This includes 3D video edition. It also includes reverting 3D videos back to 2D when needed. Another addition is auto image stabilization for recording conventional 2D videos. When it comes to audio, LG will also be including Dolby Mobile technology.

Among all of these updates, we’re itching to get our hands on the 2D to 3D game converter. This would make gaming on the LG Optimus 3D more interesting.

Are you eagerly waiting for LG’s 2D to 3D game converter? Do you think HTC will roll out a similar converter roll for their EVO 3D? Give us your thoughts.
