Despite Samsung and Google pushing back the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Android Ice Cream Sandwich, it looks like leaked images of the next generation Android OS managed to find its way on the internet.
Upon taking a look at these leaked screenshots, you’ll notice that it’s not an extreme overhaul. Everything looks familiar. However, you will also notice the improved graphics.
The leaked images come via TechCrunch. On one of the shots, ‘Android version 4.0’ is shown. This confirms that ICS is Android 4.0. It is said that you will first get to experience the Android Ice Cream Sandwich on the Google Nexus S’ successor, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Aside from running ICS, this super smartphone is said to sport a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display and pack a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor under the hood, which offers the same processing power compared to the Samsung Galaxy S2. ICS is also said to unite both Gingerbread and Honeycomb, making it easier for app developers to create apps across various Android-powered devices.
The Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2011 Google Episode event was scheduled to kick off on the 11th of October. However, they recently released a statement saying, “It is just not the right time to announce a new product.” Although, expect them to announce the rescheduled time and place of the event soon.
