iPhone to support HSPA+?

Did you think that the iPhone 4 allowed for fast page loading and downloading on a 3G network? According to a rumor, the new iPhone 5 will support HSPA+. This equates to even faster web browsing and downloading.

Both Vodafone and Three make use of HSPA+ networks. This allows smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 users to enjoy download speeds of up to 21.6 mbps in areas with strong signal strength. If this rumor is true, the iPhone 5 can now do the same.

According to a report from Pocketnow, China Unicorn has snapped a shot from the Macworld Asia conference 2011. Although the shot does not include the actual picture of the iPhone 5, it does show that the smartphone will come with support for HSPA+. Furthermore, under the name “iPhone 5” is the year 2011. This suggests that the smartphone will arrive within the year, which goes against rumors that only the iPhone 4S will be announced on October 4 in the Cupertino firm’s headquarters.

Although this is welcome prospect, it’s currently a rumor. In other words, take a grain of salt with this information.
