HTC EVO 3D Release Date Confirmed by Vodafone
Although the UK network operator is currently referring to it as the HTC Evo, Vodafone have now confirmed a release date for what everybody else is calling the HTC EVO 3D, HTC’s first ever phone to feature a 3D screen which can be watched without the use of glasses.
Going up against the LG Optimus 3D HTC’s Evo 3D is a far more powerful device, Vodafone have now confirmed the release date that they will make the HTC EVO 3D available on their range of pay monthly contract deals as July 11th 2011.
This all means that LG’s Optimus 3D will beat the Evo 3D to market but as we’ve seen previously with the LG Optimus 2X beating the HTC Sensation to release this is not always a good thing, HTC’s offering outdoes LG’s with a faster processor, the latest Android 2.3 gingerbread rather than 2.2 froyo, an extra .3 inches in screen size, dual rather than single LED flash for its 8 mega pixel camera, a faster frame rate for video recording and a bigger battery.
Comparing the HTC Evo 3D to the LG Optimus 3D we find that again the HTC has the newer Android 2.3 operating system, a higher resolution screen at 540 x 960 rather than 480 x 800, the Evo 3D also sports a Super LCD rather than TFT, double the RAM at 1GB, a considerably bigger battery at 1730mAh instead of 1500mAh and it’s all packed into a stylish housing that only measures 0.2mm thicker and 2g heavier than the Optimus 3D.
We’re hoping for more confirmed release dates for the HTC Evo 3D over the coming days so stay tuned and we’ll keep you fully up to date!
