The much anticipated HTC Wildfire S which is a direct upgrade to last years HTC Wildfire has today been released on Orange pay monthly contract deals in the UK, the new S model further improves on what proved to be an extremely popular model for the manufacturer with added features, a new casing and upgraded software.

HTC Wildfire S deals are now available on Orange and there’s even a selection of free gifts for those connecting their Wildfire S to higher tariffs, deals start from only £15 line rental and a free HTC Wildfire S is available at just £20 per month on three different tariffs.

Our pick of the bunch has to be the Orange Dolphin 20 deal that includes 250MB of internet access which we feel is essential if you are going to use your HTC Wildfire S to its maximum potential, remember that the Android system needs access to update and download applications as well as keep you connected to social networking sites like Facebook.

So, what’s new with the Wildfire S compared with the previous HTC Wildfire model? The new model is slimmer, shorter and less wide around the middle making it even more pocket friendly and the 3.2 inch screen resolution has been upgraded to 320 x 480 pixels for a clearer, crisper viewing experience.

The new HTC Wildfire S packs a faster processor at 600Hz and more RAM at 512MB, the main camera has also been tweaked to now include 720p HD video capture with its 5.0 mega pixel lens and battery life has been extended thanks to a new 1300mAh battery capable of providing 490 minutes of talk time, that’s a whole hour more chat!

The main Android operating system is the new Android 2.4 gingerbread rather than the older 2.2 Froyo and with HTC Sense UI running over the top as with many of HTC’s new phones and finally the expandable mempry for storing all of those favourite applications and pictures is set at 32GB.

The HTC Wildfire S is a significant step up for what is classed as a mid range phone, offering technology found in more expensive models but with its smaller screen and dimensions makes this a perfect partner whilst out and about.
