This is a quick but exciting update spurred from a tweet from HTC France earlier today, here in the UK we’re now used to HTC models names such as the Desire and Wildfire but may have been confused about phone models released elsewhere in the world such as the EVO and Incredible.
Well, that looks about to change, firstly with the UK release of the HTC Incredible S which is a brand new product line for HTC in the UK but now it also seems that the EVO is on its way to Europe and not just any old EVO model either; the HTC EVO 3D!
With LG already ahead of the game as usual by releasing new mobile technology before other manufacturers, it was only a matter of time before the rivals announced their new phones, LG already have their LG Optimus 2X ready for launch in the UK which sports the first ever dual core processor and are gearing up for the release of their LG Optimus 3D which is the world’s first 3D phone.
Historically though, LG tend to rush their products to market to be the first and as the competitors release their models the first LG phones usually pale into insignificance as the other manufacturers take time to perfect their products and produce far better handsets.
The new HTC EVO 3D is likely to do this to LG’s Optimus 3D in the same way, the EVO 3D offers two 5.0 mega pixel camera that can capture 2D at a full 1080p HD or 3D at 720p, a 4.3 inch3D enabled touch screen and a 1.2GHz dual core processor. Compare this to LG’s offering and although the screen size is the same as are the two 5.0MP lenses it only packs a 1GHz dual core processor.
Although there’s no confirmed release date for the new HTC EVO 3D it is due to launch in the U.S. in ‘summer’, we’re pretty sure that the rest of Europe will not be left out so expect a release around the same time.
