The new and much anticipated Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has now been confirmed by Vodafone, the network has recently added the latest Sony Ericsson Xperia phone to their coming soon page and although no release date is mentioned it should be very soon now.
The Sony Ericsson Arc is initially to be made available in two colour schemes and it’s the black Xperia Arc model that Vodafone have confirmed, a further silver edition of this new phone is also set to launch very soon after.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc follows previous models such as the Xperia X10 and X8 with aGPs and location based services to get you from A to B easily, and offers Google Maps for directions and onscreen maps. It also features an 8.1 megapixel camera for HD video and photo capture, along with plenty of entertainment features including a Media player and 3D games.
This new Sony Ericsson phone offers a full WebKit web browser which offers full HTML web pages to be viewed along with the touch pan and zoom capability offering greater clarity, and the ability to create bookmarks for future reference and favourite pages. The Google search option means that you can quickly find what you need on the Web too, and the aGPS antenna allows Google Maps (also preinstalled) to offer great onscreen maps and directions for you.
The Xperia Arc has an impressive 8.1 megapixel camera with LED flash and featuring both touch and auto focussing capabilities. The camera allows you to record video clips of your favourite moments in High Definition quality at 720 pixel resolution respectively, while it also allows easy photo capture.
Other features offered by the camera as with the 3.2 megapixel camera on the Xperia X8 inlace both face and smile detection software, and also the Send to Web feature enabling you to share your media instantly to a personal website or blog page.
Both photos and videos can also be Geotagged allowing you to easily sort your media based on location and not simply date, for easier reference. This also helps should you use the integrated social networks including Facebook and Twitter to upload you media to also.
The phone provides great connectivity as does the Xperia X8 featuring a microUSB connector with full USB support and mass storage meaning that you can offload and free up memory space to your computer from the handset. There is also Bluetooth for fast wireless file sharing between compatible devices over a short range, including the A2DP profile for wireless stereo sharing of your music for headsets. The WiFi connectivity also means that you are always able to pick up a fast data and internet connection to browse the Web, get your emails and more.
