Samsung Galaxy S White

A new model has now joined the Samsung Galaxy S range, the latest white Samsung Galaxy S joins the original black edition and 16GB edition of this high specification Android powered phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S White offers all of the same functionality, features and hardware of the original handset but replaces the back cover with a new white housing and the main phone surround for a chrome finish.

Samsung have kept things nice and simple in terms of the design of the white Samsung Galaxy S. If you could summarise in one word then “minimal” would be the perfect description.

At a glance the phone looks very similar in desigh to the iPhone 3GS white, with a large screen joined by just a single button on the front of the device. The screen is surrounded by a metallic chrome bezel which serves to enhance the look of the screen, the rear plastic panel has now been replaced in favour of the new white colour scheme. This plastic cover helps to keep the devices overall weight down to a very impressive 121 grammes.

The 4 inch display on the phones means that it does feel slightly on the large size when in the palm of your hand, but the depth is a very slim 9.9mm. Many people who opt for the Galaxy S will do so because of the great screen technology on offer. Samsungs use of Super AMOLED technology means that not only do images have a rich depth of colour, the actual quality is also superb. This is also thanks to the impressive 480 x 800 resolution, which when paired with all of the other features on offer make this display one of the best currently available.

A vast array of excellent media features also make the Samsung Galaxy S a very attractive handset to prospective customers. Perhaps the most impressive aspect is the excellent video recording facilities. The phone captures High Definition footage at a resolution of 720P and at a very high quality 30 frames per second. Still shots are captured at a rather less spectacular resolution of 5 mega pixels, however this still produces a reasonable image.

The camera is aided by both face and smile detection, auto focus and geo tagging facilities. Music files are handled admirably thanks to the phones capability of accepting a multitude of file formats. An RDS FM tuner offers a nice alternative to your own files, and the 3.5mm stereo jack is always welcome, meaning a wide range of headphones can be used. Storage options are plentiful with the unit coming with an internal memory of either 8GB or 16GB.

The obligatory microSD card slot means the more media heavy user can extend their memory by a further 32GB. The Galaxy S houses an excellent 1Ghz ARM Cortex A8 processor which ensures the phone operates effortlessly and quickly, with minimal lag between loading of applications.

A whole host of potential smartphone customers may well be convinced to stray away from the tried and trusted Apple and HTC camps by this great new model. Although the screen is the main draw of the phone, there is plenty of other features that make this a real winning handset.
