HTC HD Mini – Preview
The HTC HD Mini incorporates technology both which is advanced and useful. This Mini edition of the HTC HD2 has already created a flurry of anticipation. The HD Mini is a compact new HTC phone that measures 103 mm x 57 mm wide and 11 mm thick. The handset takes advantage of the Qualcomm 7227 600 MHz processor and combines it perfectly with Microsoft Windows mobile 6.5.3 professional to provide a stable and effective basis for the enclosed functionality.
The HD Mini comes with an internal memory of 384 MB, although 16 GB of memory capacity is available by utilising the built in microSD card slot and relevant SD cards. Connectivity comes in the form of class 10 versions of GPRS and EDGE, which are supplemented by the inclusion of blue tooth and micro USB connections. Internet access is ably provided by both the Wi Fi and HSDPA connections with surfing opportunities at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and the means to access nationally available hotspots. Satellite navigation is offered by virtue of the GPS function which also includes A-GPS support.
As with any handset, its simplicity of navigation around the touch screen is all important, with the HTC HD Mini the Sense user interface is provided and offers multi-touch support, meaning that navigating around the screen and utilising the enclosed functionality is simplicity itself.
One of the key features of this particular HTC handset is its colourful 3.2 inch TFT touch screen which offers excellent colour variants by virtue of its 65,000 colour display capabilities, all of which are confined to its 320 x 480 pixel screen size. Proximity and accelerometer sensors are included as standard and automate features such as auto shutdown and image orientation.
Entertainment is provided by variety of options including a stereo FM radio which comes with RDS capabilities as well as a MP4/MP3 media player. For further entertainment, if required, the handset includes a variety of games. Several handsets now offer social media integration and this handset is no different, offering as it does dedicated applications relating to Facebook, Flickr and twitter.
The HTC HD Mini, in many ways is similar to the HTC HD2, both offer expressive and colourful display screens, behind which are housed an array of functionality to delight all. This particular mini version, offers effective styling and compact design whilst ensuring that functionality is not compromised in any way.
