HTC Legend, HTC Desire & Sony Ericsson X10 on Vodafone
After adding the HTC Desire and Google Nexus One as well as the Sony Ericsson X10 to their ‘coming soon’ page, Vodafone have now also added the HTC Legend with an April release date.
The new HTC Legend is the direct upgrade to the extremely popular HTC Hero (also known as the T-Mobile G2), the biggest difference is in the phones manufacture as the new Legend uses a single moulded piece of aluminium for a more robust feel.
Vodafone look to be fully supporting the onslaught of new Android phones with its entire coming soon page now filled with nothing less, the conflict between the Nexus One and HTC Desire might be worth watching though as will the pricing for these very similar models.
The Nexus One features the ‘older style’ physical trackball for its main navigation button which when compared with the Desire’s new optical solution might sway customers looking for a long term contract fearing wear and tear on the Google phone. (although with the Android OS the trackball shouldn’t need to be used too often)
HTC have also installed their own Sense UI on the Desire for a smooth user experience and the phone also supports Flash 10.1 straight out of the box.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is the manufacturers first ever Android phone and hopes to make an impact with a sleek, powerful device, this X10 model is also set to be joined by a new Mini range including the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro which are miniature versions of the original with almost the same specifications!
It looks like April is going to be a VERY busy time for Vodafone with the Xperia X10, HTC Desire AND Legend all scheduled for release at around the same time! We are still waiting for a confirmed release date for the Nexus One on Vodafone although this looks to be not far behind.
