Samsung Galaxy Spica (i5700 Galaxy Portal) Launched
A new, smaller brother to the Samsung Galaxy Android phone has now been released, the Samsung Galaxy Spica is also known as the Galaxy Portal as well as its model number, the i5700, and is now available as an unlocked mobile phone.
The Samsung Galaxy Spica may well be seen as a ‘cut-down’ version of the original model but this slim Android handset packs a fast 800MHz processor which is ideal for multitasking as well as HSDPA, WiFi and Bluetooth for fast connectivity.
The SIM free Samsung i5700 can be used on any network by inserting your existing SIM card, this means there are no extra ongoing costs to pay over and above the initial retail price of the handset, the Samsung Galaxy Portal is due for network release soon should you wish to wait for a network subsidy to discount the price.
There’s also a planned white edition of the Spica featuring ‘Android Green’ accents due for release alongside this first black version.
