Samsung Blue Earth Released – Samsung S7550
The Samsung Blue Earth mobile phone is the first to be released with a solar panel for charging, also known as the Samsung S7550, the Blue Earth is an eco-friendly device manufactured from recycled materials.
This new Samsung phone has now been launched as a SIM Free handset, the Samsung Blue Earth is unlocked to all network operators so that the consumer can simply use their existing SIM card either on Pay As You Go or contract and retain their mobile number and any contacts that have been saved to their SIM card.

Samsung’s S7550 Blue Earth looks fantastic and helps save the planet. This new smartphone is made out of recycled plastics and has a solar panel on the back to run on power from the sun. In fact, if you bask this mobile in the sun for an hour, you’ll get around 10 minutes of talk-time on 3G+networks.
The touch-sensitive screen displays 16 million colours, making it comfortable to use all the applications on the Blue Earthphone. You’ll be able to surf the web or take photos with the integrated 3-megapixel camera with 4x zoom. You can even record up to an hour of video with the Samsung S7550, while the built-in MP3 player is ideal for enjoying your favourite tunes at any time of the day.
That’s not all though! Thanks to the microSD slot and USB 2.0 port, you can transfer and store multimedia files on memory cards and external devices.
With loads of energy-efficient technologies packed into its compact body, the Samsung Blue Earth does its bit for the environment.
There is only one other phone currently on the market that allows for solar charging, this is the LG Pop but you have to purchase the extra solar charging panel for the back of the phone separately.
