Nokia 5230 Review
The Nokia 5230 is a smart phone that is a recently released handset from the Nokia stable. Offering a wide variety of functionality including an impressive touch screen and internet connectivity, the 5230 XpressMusic adds to the already burgeoning reputation of Nokia. Encased within a stylish casing, which is reminiscent of several other Nokia models, it is comfortable to hold and emphatically simple to use.
The Nokia 5230 comes with a wide variety of features which include a 2.0 mega pixel camera, which also takes VGA quality video at 30 frames per second as well as an MP4/MP3 player which will play all major audio and video file types. An FM radio with RDS capability and a raft of games are also included as standard and complete the entertainment element of this handset.
This new Nokia phone is available in both black and white and measures 111 mm x 51 mm wide, whilst being 15 mm thick. It is compact in many ways and utilises an effective touch screen as its primary means of navigating around functionality. The display screen is a TFT resistive touch screen which is 3.2 inches in size and is able to accurately display up to 16 million colours, thus providing imagery of outstanding quality and depth of colour. Proximity and accelerometer sensors are also included within the package, as is handwriting recognition which offers an alternative form of data and text entry.
The 5230 comes with an internal memory capacity of 70 MB, with the ability to utilise SD cards to further expand the memory, which means that the memory can be expanded up to 16 GB. GPRS, EDGE, blue tooth and micro USB are all included as standard whilst internet access is provided via its HSDPA connection. The phone utilises the Arm 11 434 MHz processor as its central processing unit, whilst its operating system is the Symbian operating system, version 9.4.
As well as the features and functions already mentioned, the handset also comes with a useful photo editor, document viewer for Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents as well as flash lite 3.0 and a voice command/dial function.
The Nokia 5230 White is the most recently released version of this handset, and provides an impressive colour variant. The phones popularity is down to a simple mix of efficient technology utilised in the most effective manner.
