Nokia 3710 Fold Review
The Nokia 3710 Fold is an impressive new clamshell handset recently released by Nokia. It is compact and lightweight as well as offering a veritable feast of functionality all enclosed within an exquisitely styled flip phone. As with most Nokia handsets the 3710′s display screen is one of its many features and it displays colour in an accurate and vibrant manner. As with most flip style phones this handset comes with two display screens – an external ‘notification’ display and full colour internal screen.
The aforementioned internal display screen is 2.2 inches in size and is TFT. It displays up to 16 million colours at a pixel screen size of 240 x 320 pixels. Due to its ability to display so many colours, images displayed are exceedingly colourful and faithfully reproduced. The external screen provided by the 3710 Fold is a monochrome TFT display screen which operates at a pixel screen size of 128 x 160 pixels. Limited information is displayed on the screen, however the information it does provide negates the need to open the phone when a call is received.

The Nokia 3710 Fold comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera which operates at a pixel resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and comes with enhanced fixed focus capabilities as well as an LED flash for illumination purposes. In addition the camera also provides the ability to take video as an alternative to photo. A secondary camera is built into the phone and is a VGA style 3G video call camera.
A variety of entertainment options are provided with this phone which include an MP4/MP3 player, stereo FM radio with RDS and a variety of games. The players will play all major audio and video file formats while the radio offers alternative to downloaded music and the ability to listen to a wide variety of radio stations located around the country. In addition an organiser, voice memo and flashlight 3.0 are also included within the package.
The Nokia 3710 provides a variety of connectivity options which include GPRS, EDGE, blue tooth and USB. Internal memory of the handset is 70 MB with the ability to increase this significantly by utilising the integrated MicroSD card slot, which allows expansion of the memory up to an impressive 8 GB. The inclusion of the GPS with A-GPS support for satellite navigation is an impressive element of this handset.
The Nokia 3710 Fold Black is one colour variant available, with other colours being pink and plum. The unit provides an impressive mix of useful functionality coupled with an endearing and eclectic style.
