The new Samsung S5560 is one of the latest touch screen phones to be released, this new, sleek Samsung handset which is also known as the Marvel is already available on both T-Mobile and Orange deals as well as being launched as a Pay As You Go phone and now the S5560 has found a new network partner in Vodafone.
The Samsung Marvel S5560 has been made available free of charge on Vodafone 75 + 250, this tariff gives you 75 minutes of inclusive call allowance to any network every month as well as 250 text messages to use.
The Samsung S5560 is a stylish new touchscreen phone with a 3″ resistive touch display with WQVGA resolution, 5 megapixel snapper with LED flash, micro SD card slot and 3.5mm audio jack. Despite the lack of 3G capabilities, the S5560 sports Wi-Fi connectivity, which has been high on the feature wishlist of budget-conscious users.
Review:
The Samsung S5560 is a touch screen mobile phone complete with a desirable & well designed casing. This phone comes in a black coloured casing & the front view of the handset is almost filled by its user friendly touch screen. Its screen is 3 inches in size when measured from corner to corner diagonally, & displays up to 262,000 colours on its high resolution screen. The user can customise their home screen with their favourite features, widgets & background display.
This touch screen supports an accelerometer sensor which will automatically turn the screen depending on whether the handset is in its horizontal or vertical mode for the users viewing needs. The user can enjoy a stylish TouchWiz user interface on their S5560 which makes it a fun handset to use. Below the screen there is a navigation control key & two call keys which allow the user to accept their calls & end their calls easily using these controls. There is a camera capture key & volume keys located on the side sections of the handset which are situated in these easy to access positions for ease of use. The Samsung S5560 is a truly sturdy handset which measures 10.75cm tall by 5.2cm wide by 1.32cm deep & its total weight including the fitted battery amounts to 95.3 grams.
This mobile phone supports a speaker phone feature which allows the user to hear their calls over the phones loud speakers. The user simply switches to speakers when the user wishes to hear their contact out loud, & the user responses will be picked up by the handsets built in microphone. It is possible for the user to gain access to calls the user has made, received & even missed, by the user simply accessing their call log feature & they user can even make a call if needing to respond to a missed call in their call log. The Samsung S5560 makes communicating easy for its user as the user can manage & control their phone book with their contacts details & make a call using simply touch screen controls.
There is a built in Internet browser which supports XHTML & HTML Internet browsing & the user can access many online services & information via their mobile Web browsing experience. It comes with an integrated email service which allows the user to create, store & receive emails on the Samsung S5560. This integrated email service allows the user to communicate with their contacts via email directly from their mobile phone. The S5560 also supports a text message service & a multimedia messaging service allowing the user to create & share messages with ease. A multimedia message can contain a photo, image or a video clips complete with text & sound to enhance the message further. Known as a MMS message, the multimedia messaging services allows the user to share their photos instantly with other MMS compatible contacts.
This phone comes with a built in radio feature which supports FM tuning & has a RDS service which provides information on the touch screen which can be read by the user whilst listening to the radio, if the user requests this service. This radio feature can also be added to the user’s widgets & even to the user home screen which makes it in an easily located position at all times. The Samsung S5560 has a music playing feature which supports high quality sound output & a selection of popular music playing formats including MP3 format & WAV format. Again the user can locate this music player via the phones menu or set a music player widget on their home screen if desired.
There is a video playing facility which allows the user to playback their video creations or to playback video recordings which have been shared by their contacts. The video player supports video playback in MPEG4, H263 format & H264 video format. The S5560 comes with a 5 megapixel camera feature complete with a selection of imaging features including a built in image stabiliser, LED flash, smile detection feature & an automatic focus feature. This 5 megapixel camera also supports video recording capabilities allowing the user to capture moving footage as well as still images.
The S5560 supports Wi-Fi® connectivity allowing the user to connect their mobile phone to a nearby wireless LAN or hotspot to gain a connection to the Internet, without the use of wires or cables. When the user wishes to connect their mobile phone to other compatible devices then the user can use either micro USB connection or a Bluetooth® wireless connection to connect the two devices for data transfer purposes. A Bluetooth® wireless connection can be gained between the Samsung S5560 & another compatible Bluetooth® device including a printer, computer or another mobile phone which is up to ten metres away from the S5560 during the connectivity process.
This phone comes with 78 megabytes of internal memory & has a memory card slot which allows the user to insert a memory card up to 16 gigabytes in memory size. The battery provided with the Samsung S5560 handset provides up to nine & a half hours talk time when fully charged or approximately six hundred & twenty hours of standby battery time. This mobile phone works over a quad band GSM network which covers 850, 900, 1800, 1900 networks & will automatically switch between networks as required.
