Review:
The Samsung B3310 is a texting and social networking lovers dream phone, with a slide-out Qwerty keyboard for easy text input and pre-installed applications for one touch access to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube this latest Samsung phone will let you stay up to date with your friends fast.
The most noticeable feature on the exterior of the phone has to be the strange key layout for the numbered keys, rather than the standard 4 x 3 arrangement found on the majority of handsets the Samsung B3310 keys are set in a column down one side of the phone. It is not until you slide out the keyboard that you realise why, this column turns to a row – the top row of numbers you’d usually find on a standard home computer keyboard.
This new Samsung phone runs a tweaked version of the famous TouchWiz UI which has an air of youth about it with some funky new graphics and a home screen that you can add your favourite widgets to.
Inside you’ll find a 2.0 mega pixel camera with video support that lets you then upload your favourites to your profile, there is also an expandable memory to store them for sharing later. The Samsung B3310 offers a great sized screen at 2.2 inches, for music and video playback there is also a multimedia player and stereo Bluetooth so you can listen through a Bluetooth headset.
Further features include a web browser and email client, this is an extremely compact phone measuring 91 x 54 x 17mm and only weighing 101g which is surprising considering the full keyboard on offer.
Opinion:
Social networking on the move just got simpler, the Samsung B3310 may offer a funky new design but it really works for quickly typing out text messages, emails and status updates. If you are a serious social networker but don’t want a touch screen phone like the Samsung Genio Touch then this is a great solution. An ideal pocket friendly device the Samsung B3310 Black makes for a great ‘blokey’ alternative to the ‘girly’ pink model. There is also a planned Jade Green edition that looks more blue than green on its way soon!
