Blackberry Storm 2 Review
The Blackberry Storm 2 is one of the latest incarnations of the Blackberry phone. With enhanced features, this opulent phone is able to provide a whole raft of new and advanced functions which eluded previous versions. Recently released, this latest addition offers something different, whilst still maintaining the overall appeal that the Blackberry name has become synonymous for.
The Storm 2 comes with a 3.25 inch TFT touch screen, which is one of only a few within the Blackberry range with this facility. The screen has a pixel size of 480 x 360 pixels and displays up to 65,000 colours. Images are shown in stunning clarity and with an excellent colour reproduction that has been missing in earlier versions of the handset. An accelerometer sensor automatically rotates images to their optimum aspect for the user comfort.
Connectivity is one of the key elements of the Blackberry Storm 2, and it comes with a whole host of options. With GPRS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, EDGE, Blue tooth and microUSB all available the phone has no problem connecting to multiple devices. Internet access is available at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, through the HSDPA connection, whilst the Wi-Fi allows connectivity through available hot spots. The GPS with A-GPS support offers satellite navigation when required.
The phone comes with a 3.15 mega pixel camera which operates at 2048 x 1536 pixels. The camera also comes with auto focus, image stabilisation and an LED flash to help take effective images. Geo tagging is provided which has become an integral feature of many phones. For anyone who prefers the medium of video capture, the phone offers that option as well. Internal memory on this handset is 2 GB, which is sufficient for most needs.
The size of the phone is 112 mm x 62 mm wide and 14 mm thick. The handset weighs 160 grams. It offers vibration and ring alerts and is able to utilise MP3 ringtones. An MP3/MP4 player is included as well as an organiser.
The Blackberry Storm2 much like the Blackberry 8520 curve uses the Blackberry operating system as it integral means of working. It is a competent phone which with the new features will win wider appeal amongst the mobile phone community.
