Sony Ericsson Jalou on Pay As You Go Deals UK
The first phone from the new Sony Ericsson Jalou range has today been launched as a pay as you go phone, the black edition Sony Jalou is the latest flip phone from the manufacturer and is aimed more towards a female audience with some unique features for women.
Joining the Sony Ericsson Jalou soon are three other editions of this new clamshell phone, these include the Sony Jalou Amethyst and Blue versions as well as a new designer model called the Sony Ericsson Jalou Dolce and Gabbana which is finished in a beautiful rose pink coloured casing with D&G gold accents and exclusive mobile content.
Don’t be confused if you also stumble across the same phone being marketed as the BeJoo, this is the official name for the same handset in France, it is called the Jalou in the rest of the world. (Apparently Jalou was too closer word to the French word for ‘Jealous’)
Review:
Sony Ericsson refer to the design of the Jalou as a ‘facet cut jewel form’, this may remind you of the Nokia 7070 Prism phones released last year but the Sony Jalou is a far more competent and sophisticated handset altogether. The design is actually very different from many flip phones as the overall height of the Sony Ericsson Jalou is far smaller than most available, this makes for a very compact device even when the phone is in the open position and weighing in at just 84g makes this an ideal phone for the smaller handbag for those nights out when only a tiny bag will do.
The Sony Ericsson Jalou is a HSDPA, 3.5G enabled phone with 2.0 inch display which reverts to a mirror when not in use, there’s a good 3.2 mega pixel camera for capturing both quality photos and videos as well as a multimedia player and stereo bluetooth for listening to your favourite music tracks. To store your music, pictures and video clips the Sony Jalou offers an expandable memory with MicroSD cards, there’s also a web browser, email client and FM Radio.
The womanly features we referred to earlier are a zodiac application for checking those all important horoscopes as well as a handy step counter for the more active lady.
Opinion:
We have to say that the Sony Ericsson Jalou is one of the most desirable flip mobile phones from the manufacturer in some time, compared with the recently released Sony Ericsson T707 this is a far more ‘girly’ looking handset and its smaller dimensions and unique ‘cut jewel’ design make for a far more attractive handset. Clamshell phones are usually situated at the bottom budget end of the market, however the Sony Jalou sits firmly in the mid-range and offers a decent camera not usually found in this design of phone.
