Review:
3.7 inches of pure touch screen technology is what you get with the new Samsung Omnia2, resistive touch makes this 480 x 800 pixel display screen extremely accurate and it uses the latest AMOLED technology for a sharper image ideal for internet browsing, document viewing, flicking through your photos and watching downloaded videos.
Offering a very similar look to the recently launched Samsung Jet the Omnia2 packs a punch when it comes to connectivity and features, there’s built-in Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5G support and HSDPA for quick download speeds of new content, media and applications. On the reverse of the handset is a 5.0 mega pixel camera offering autofocus, smile detection, face detection, video capture and a dual LED flash, you can also geo-tag your pictures with the Samsung Omnia 2′s A-GPS.
The Omnia2 is a Windows Mobile device, this gives you a good web browser, multimedia player and support for email and Microsoft Office and Email products, running over the top is Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface which makes for smooth menu navigation and allows for personalised home screen widgets.
Along with the music player there’s also an FM radio and to compliment a 3.5mm jack so you don’t have to use the headphones in the box, the onboard memory can be expanded to a nice 32GB allowing plenty of room for music, video, images and applications.
Opinion:
This is a very impressive Samsung phone that will cater to most peoples connectivity needs, the large AMOLED touch screen is a joy to use and viewing web pages in landscape mode is a great experience. If you are looking for a device that will keep you connected offering a decent camera with good features then the Omnia2 ticks all the boxes.
