Slide out keyboard style phones seem to coming out from all manufacturers recently. The Nokia 6760 Slide is Nokia’s latest version of this style of phone which will partner the Nokia N900 and N97 Mini on their release. The Nokia 6760 features a slide out full QWERTY keyboard, hidden behind the display screen. The 6760 Slide offers the ability to enter data in a much more refined and faster method than standard Nokia phone keypads which is why, it will no doubt be popular. The phone measures in at 97 mm x 57mm wide whilst being 15 mm thick. This is incredible considering a full QWERTY keyboard is included within that dimension.

There are two colour variants planned on top of the one seen here below, those being the Nokia 6760 Slide White and Red editions.

Nokia 6760

The Nokia 6760 offers a 2.4 inch TFT screen display with up to 16 million colours at a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Its image display capabilities are excellent and offers true to life colour reproduction. The inclusion of a full QWERTY keyboard situated behind the screen, means that the 6760 is the perfect work horse or ideal for data and text entry features. Inputting text and data is simple with the keyboard.

The Nokia 6760 comes with a 3.15 mega pixel camera which operates at a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. This is sufficient to provide good quality images. The camera also provides the ability to record and playback video at QVGA quality. This is an excellent addition and one that provides an alternative to still images. Internal memory is set at 128 Mb but can be expanded up to 8 Gb by using the microSD card facility.

Nokia 6760

The phone comes with an MP3/MP4 player, which will play all major audio files including MP3, WMA and AAC as well as video files such as MP4 and 3GP. Internet access is available with the 6760 with built in HSDPA providing fast access. Additional sources of connectivity include GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE, Blue tooth and microUSB. Satellite navigation is available with the GPS with A-GPS support function, which uses Nokia maps.

The Nokia 6760 is an excellent version of a slide phone. The QWERTY keyboard is very responsive and uses reasonable size keys which make it even easier to use than most other handsets. The handset itself is simply and uncluttered whilst still offering many features that are useful to anyone. The handset is expected to be released Q3 of 2009.
