The Samsung Omnia 2 which is also known as the Samsung i8000 is a piece of art in a mobile phone sense. With stylish contours and an expressive display screen, the Omnia2 is an ideal companion for anyone looking for a street smart and comprehensive Samsung mobile phone. Packed full of features the phone is a compendium of functionality whilst still retaining an air of simplicity.
This Samsung Omnia 2 is an excellent PDA style Smartphone which uses the Samsung S3C6410 800MHz processor and a dedicated graphics accelerator to ensure image quality. It includes the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system which is upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5.

The Omnia II’s 3.7 inch TFT display screen offers crystal clear clarity and shows images in life like colours, whilst displaying 65,000 colour and their variants. The functions are accessed via the Touchwiz 2.0 user interface which is simple to use and effective. Handwriting recognition is also provided and is a useful addition, as is the accelerometer sensor.
The Samsung Omnia II offers a 5 mega pixel camera which operates at 2592 x 1944 pixels. Auto focus, smile and face detection as well as geo tagging are also provided and a dual LED flash completes the ensemble. Video recording and playback are available at high quality, if required. The addition of a photo and video editor are useful elements which can enhance any form of image taken.
Internet access is offered through the HSDPA connection at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps whilst the Wi-Fi connection offers the ability to access hotspots. GPS and A-GPS support is also included for satellite navigation. The Omnia 2 also comes with Bluetooth and microUSB.
An MP3 / MP4 player offers musical media capabilities and ensures that numerous audio and video file formats can be played on the phone. A stereo FM radio with RDS offers the ability to tune into national and local radio stations.
The Samsung Omnia 2 is compact. It measures 118 mm x 59 mm wide as well as being 11 mm thick. It weighs 129 grams and is pocket sized in every way. The phone is an impressive mix of advanced engineering and eclectic design and is a sure fire winner from Samsung.
