It seems a very long time since Nokia released a rugged type mobile phone, in fact the last was the Nokia 5140i which was well over 2 years ago! Now the manufacturer has launched what at first sight might simply look like another in the Nokia Classic range but this is an IP54 rated tough phone for those who work in outdoor conditions and those who like to play hard.

The Nokia 3720 Classic was first made available on O2 deals back on the 17th of this month, now the 3720 has been released on Orange pay monthly deals as well which has more than doubled the number of tariffs available. It has to be said that this is by far the most classy looking tough phone currently on the market which is pretty easy when you consider the Sonim XP3 and Landrover S1 Phone are the alternatives.

The only other tough phone that comes even close to the looks of the Nokia 3720 Classic is the recently launched Samsung Extreme, however Nokia’s build quality and overall finish is more pleasing on the eye. Although the 3720 is a rugged phone it is also a part of the Classic series which has produced the likes of the Nokia 6700 and 6720, the manufacturer has used quality materials like stainless steel in the casing for that understated Classic look and yet managed to produce a phone that is dust, water and shock resistant.

The Nokia 3720 offers a 2.0 mega pixel camera with an LED flash for photography on the move, a multimedia player and FM Radio for mobile music enjoyment, a very handy built-in flashlight for finding your way in the dark and Bluetooth technology for file sharing with compatible devices.

There is also an expandable memory for storing extra music, photo and video files, an internet browser and email client. The Nokia 3720 Classic offers a decent battery life of 7 hours talktime and a massive 18 days standby, it is also surprisingly light considering the materials used at just 95g.
