Samsung Jet – Super-Fast Samsung S8000 Jet Review
The Samsung Jet is a sleek and stylish mobile phone from Samsung’s touch screen range. Its sleek and accommodating outer casing is well crafted and superior in many ways to many other PDA style phones on the market currently. Functionality is prolific within the Jet with some outstanding features contained within its black exterior. This new Samsung handset is also known by its model number as the S8000.
The phone comes with a 5 mega pixel camera which operates at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. The camera also provides several additional features which include auto focus, LED flash and Geo-tagging. These features ensure clarity of image whilst also providing the ability to reference the image taken by location. The ability to make and receive video calls is important to numerous people and the addition of a secondary camera offers that ability. The camera doubles up as a video recorder which will record and playback video clips. The video is recorded at D1 quality which is at 720 x 480 resolution and at 30 frames per second.
The Samsung Jet‘s 3.1 inch AMOLED resistive touch screen is sumptuous to the extreme. It has the ability to display up to 16 million colours which ensures imagery displayed has excellent colour representation. For accessing the features and general navigation around the phone, the TouchWiz version 2 user interface is provided and is an excellent system. The addition of an accelerometer sensor and proximity sensor ensures that images are displayed in their correct aspect and battery power is conserved.
Internet access is provided by the HSDPA and Wi-Fi connections as well as the ability to access the multitude of Wi-Fi hot spots available nationally. Additional connectivity is provided by Blue tooth and microUSB whilst the GPS with A-GPs support feature offers satellite navigation, which is always a useful function to have available.
The Jet also comes with an MP3/MP4 player and a stereo FM radio, this offers the means to play a wide variety of audio and video files, whilst the radio offers local and national radio broadcast availability. A digital compass and Media Gate 3D are also included as standard
The Samsung S8000 Jet is a comprehensive mobile phone in every way. Its styling is eclectic yet subtle whilst its plethora of functions has made it a popular handset with a growing band of loyal followers.

This phone looks great. I plan to take it, but my concern is divx codec. Does it support all divx files? I had bad experience with divx codecs on previous phones, since I had to convert files.
