Nokia 6710 Navigator Review – New Nokia Navigator
The Nokia 6710 Navigator is a comprehensive handset which utilises the ARM 11 600 MHz processor and Symbian operating system as its means of performing all of its tasks. This latest Nokia handset offers excellent value for money and is a useful phone in many ways. Recently released, it has already gained a loyal band of followers to whom the phone appeals. Navigation is the central element of this phone which comes with a lifetime vehicle voice guided navigation licence.
The Nokia 6710 comes with a 2.6 inch TFT screen which displays 16 million colours and their variants accurately. The display screen operates at a pixel size of 240 x 320. This ensures that images are shown with excellent colour reproduction whilst being large enough to view images in detail. The addition of a touch sensitive zoom bar means that elements of the image can be enhanced if desired whilst the accelerometer function ensures the images are displayed in their correct aspect.
This new Nokia Navigator provides a 5 mega pixel camera which operates at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. Carl Zeiss optics are used within the camera and offers excellent quality. The Nokia 6710 also comes with auto focus and an LED flash. The ability to record and playback video is an important function that is desired by many, and this phone offers this feature at VGA quality and at 15 frames per second. Video call is enabled and is at QVGA quality also at 15 frames per second.
The Nokia 6710 Navigator comes with a multitude of connection features such as GPRS, EDGE, HSCSD and HSDPA and WI-Fi for internet connectivity. Web browsing is extremely fast with speeds of up to 10.2 Mbps achievable. MicroUSB and blue tooth are also provided. The phones navigation element as indicated by its name is the GPS with A-GPS support function which includes Ovi maps version 3.0.
A plethora of media can be played on this handset thanks to the inclusion of an MP3 player and MP4 players, both of which can play a vast array of media file types. The integrated stereo FM radio with RDS capability ensures alternative entertainment when desired.
The Nokia Navigator, as with many of Nokia handsets is a specifically designed unit which is aimed at the growing market of navigation users. It offers everything a mobile phone offers but with the added bonus of an exceptional satellite navigation system. Its popularity is assured.
