LG Chocolate BL40 on Vodafone Deals UK
The LG phone that’s broken the mould has now found a new network partner, the BL40 is LG’s latest handset from their Chocolate range which is also known as the Black Label Series (hence BL40), this new device may look more like a TV remote control than a mobile phone but this is all down to the immense size of its display screen.
Originally launched on Orange back in August and on O2, SIM Free and Pay As You Go this month the LG Bl40 Chocolate can now be connected to a range of Vodafone tariffs, this new LG Chocolate phone is a real move away from conventional handset design and gives a new meaning to the word ‘candy-bar’ design.
Featuring a massive 4 inch, 345 x 800 WVGA, LCD touch screen and split screen navigation the BL40 is ideal for watching movies in HD and browsing the web in widescreen, the resolution allows for sharper colours than you’ll have ever seen on an LG phone before.
This new screen size means that viewing the web feels very similar to using a laptop with full screen webpages without the need to scroll left and right, the LG BL40 Chocolate also offers a split screen option which makes searching through your emails and text messages far simpler, on the left you’ll see who sent the message whilst on the right the message contents. This means you do not have to actually view your SMS to see which one it was.
Another great addition which is currently available on the latest iPhone 3Gs is copy and paste, this feature was something that iPhone users were screaming for with the latest upgrade but the new LG Chocolate already has this built-in, it allows you to select chunks of text to copy elsewhere much like Ctrl+C on your computer.
Another new piece of software from LG allows you to literally draw an icon on the screen with your finger to access different parts of the menu, the screen is tough aswell as scratch resistant which is great for this size of screen.
Surprisingly, for a phone of this capacity the LG BL40 is incredibly thin at just 10.9mm, other features include WiFi, 1GB internal expandable to 32GB memory, A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack plug, Video MMS, FM Radio and Mulitmedia player, LG have also incorporated a 5.0 megapixel camera with one of their best lenses for video capture and stunning picture quality.
With most manufacturers very much following the touch screen phone trend by trying to release more and more iPhone lookalikes it’s nice that LG have taken this different approach and released something that is truly stunning for video buffs.
