Samsung S5200 Review
The Samsung S5200 is a compact new Samsung sliding phone that takes over where the U600 model left off. That tends to be one of the first things you notice upon viewing its sleek and stylish lines. The S5200 actually measures in at 104 mm x 49 mm wide. The unit is 10 mm thick and weighs 97 grams. This phone is slim line, lightweight and feature rich, in a nutshell.
The Samsung S5200 has a 3.15 mega pixel camera integrated into the unit and offers excellent quality image taking capabilities. The camera operates at a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. To aid illumination of the subject being photographed, this new Samsung phone comes with an LED flash. For the situation which requires moving image capture the S5200 offers video recording and playback which is at QVGA quality. For memory storage the phone provides an internal memory of 50 Mb but has the ability to expand on this by using the microSD slot up to 8 Gb.
There are two colour schemes initially launched of the S5200, the original black/bronze and a newer pink/white colour combination, both Samsung models feature a gradiated finish to the rear of the handset which looks great as the colours combine.
The phones 2.1 inch TFT display screen is colourful and an excellent focal point for the phone. It displays up to 16 million colours in a vibrant fashion and due to this the images simply seem to burst out of the screen. A variety of alert types are available which include vibration and ring, with the ability to use MP3 and WAV ringtones as well as being able to download polyphonic ringtones.
The S5200 comes with a raft of connectivity options which include GPRS, HSCSD, Blue tooth, USB and EDGE. This means it is a simple task to share files or data with a variety of devices. The Samsung MP3 player and FM radio provide the means to listen to either downloaded media files of varying types or simply listen to radio broadcasts whilst ambling along.
The Samsung S5200 is a phone which offers function and features within a compact unit. It is an effective mobile phone with the ability to slip quietly into a pocket whilst still maintaining a certain level of respectability due to its feature rich ensemble. The phone has only recently been released and has already shown promise within the current mobile phone market.
