Another network launch has taken place today for LG’s latest widescreen mobile phone the BL40, after being first launched on Orange back on August 10th quicly followed by O2 and most recently as a SIM Free phone the new LG Chocolate is now available as a prepay handset.

The LG BL40 is the newest addition to LG’s Black Lable range and is also known as the Chocolate phone, this new device offers a very different viewing experience with its massive 4″ touch screen display which can also work as two separate screens, very effect when viewing your text messages the BL40 shows the message details and sender information on the left hand side and the message contents on the right making it easy to scroll through your texts to find the one you’re looking for.

The massive screen of the LG BL40 is also ideal for viewing downloaded videos, offering a sharp contrast and full landscape viewing the new LG Chocolate Bl40 is more in tune with a standalone MP4 player than a traditional mobile phone, the screen also faciliates a better internet browsing experience by viewing web pages in full 4″ landscape mode – ideal for keeping up-to-date with friends via Facebook. This new LG Chocolate phone also allows personalisation of your home screen and with the quick slide of your finger you can easily access your favourites.

The LG BL40 New Chocolate is the fourth phone in LG’s Black Label series. First the LG Chocolate, then the LG Shine, followed by the LG Secret. The new BL40 Chocolate has a 4 inch HD touchscreen (800×345 pixels) with a cinema aspect ratio of 21:9. It uses the latest S-class user interface with multi-touch, gesture controls and an accelerometer for automatic screen rotation. The web browser, Google maps and messaging on this phone all look very impressive.

The BL40 has Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G and HSDPA with speeds up to 7.2Mbps, where available. There’s a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with a Schneider Kreuznach Lens, which is welcomed as some of the current 8 megapixel units produce poorer photos in low light conditions. There’s 1GB of internal memory, expandable to 32GB using a microSD memory card.
