The new edition of the Viewty phone by LG has now been released in the UK on Orange pay monthly deals, this sleek new touch screen LG phone takes the best from the original Viewty model and further enhances the camera, features and technology to come up with the GC900.

The LG GC900 is to be sold as the LG Viewty Smart, originally nicknamed the Viewty 2 this new model offers a fantastic 8 megapixel camera and LG’s new 3D UI first seen on the LG Arena, initially launched on Orange the Viewty Smart is available free at just £25 per month with 400 anytime, any network minutes and 300 inclusive text messages to use every month.

Joining this new black edition of the LG GC900 is a further colour variant aptly called the LG Viewty Smart Silver, this second model simply swaps the exterior black finish for a new sleek silver finish, the features and design remain exactly the same as the black edition.

The Viewty Smart, an eight-megapixel camera phone runs on the stylish new 3D S-Class interface first seen on the Arena, LG’s flagship release for 2009.

Taking inspiration from its predecessor and the fancy 3D cube interface from the LG Arena, the LG Viewty Smart’s key focuses are in its camera and ease of use.

We’re getting used to seeing 8-megapixel cameras on our phones these days, but this one does sport a few interesting new features. Firstly, You’ll be able to control the ISO settings, up to a maximum of 1600. The camera also offers ‘Intelligent Shoot Mode’, in this mode, the phone checks out the lighting levels, the subject and background and sets up the shot accordingly. There’s also multi face detection and DVD quality video recording alongside a roster of more standard features like panorama photo stitching.

If you’re not familiar with ISO control, it becomes important when working in low light conditions. The lower the light, the higher the ISO you’ll need.

The LG Viewty Smart packs a 3-inch 800×480 (WVGA) screen and 1.5GB of onboard memory, plus a microSDHC-compatible slot that’ll take cards of up to 32GB, which is about as large a memory card as you can reasonably get your hands on at the moment.
