Samsung S5230 – Samsung Tocco Lite Review – S5230 Tocco Lite Review
The first thing to attract your attention about the new Samsung S5230 is the slim and sleek look. But there is more to this touch screen phone than mere good looks.
The large display screen is by far its most prominent feature and measures 3” diagonally and has a resolution of 240×400 pixels. The front has basically a few other keys apart from the screen. The screen facilitates both horizontal and vertical view.
The Samsung Tocco Lite is also known as the Samsung S5230 as well as the Tocco Light Edition, its a budget priced mobile phone that is set to give the best selling LG Cookie a run for its money.
The touch screen can be locked for gesture control to prevent any application getting activated by mistake. Handwriting recognition is yet another feature that needs to be highlighted. The model comes in classy black and the dimensions of the casing are 11.9x104x53mm.
Samsung Tocco Lite
Though comparisons with the S5600 are inevitable, they both have some unique features and will be slotted at different price range.
The Samsung Tocco Lite comes with a memory card slot providing expandable memory. It has a capacity of 8GB microSD memory card. Apart from this, it offers 50 MB internal memory, which could be use for a variety of purposes like storing messages, contact info or pictures. For additional data transfer speed, GPRS and EDGE technology are supported by S5230. It uses quad band GSM and can switch network bands automatically. The phone is designed to cover international roaming if the network provider allows it. Bluetooth that comes with A2DP permits ease in data transfer. Samsung S5230 can also be connected to computer and other devices with USB cables.
The 3 megapixel camera takes very good pictures and supports QVGA. The touchscreen takes the function of the viewfinder while the camera itself is behind the device. The Smile shot, which is becoming a rage with camera mobile phones, is seen in the Samsung S5230 also. This takes pictures only if the subject is smiling. The camera comes with a built-in flash too.
Samsung S5230 Tocco Lite comes with a lot of entertainment features. For starters, it is FM radio enabled. S5230 comes with DNSe and supports multiple formats assuring sound ease and better quality. The phone has a music player that supports MP3, MWA and AAC formats. Of course, with USB and Bluetooth, possibility for music transfer is endless. It is also enabled for recording video footage at 15 frames/sec. Needless to say, the hi-color touchscreen makes the viewing experience great. The Tocco Lite has many games included. The TouchWiz mobile widget provides a UI that can prove to be very entertaining too.

I have this phone and must say it is almost perfect, but only almost the one thing it is lacking is a stylus, it has handwriting recognition but no stylus and so far I can’t find one which is specifically for the tocco lite and as all previous tocco’s where not to be used with a stylus there is no simple option and even once I get one it will have to dangle off the otherwise good looking phone.

I got this phone from Carphonewarehouse 2 days ago. It’s a excellent touchscreen mobile and you text is easy and can be done either in portrait or turn the phone and use in landscape mode and text querty mode. It also had 12 spaces for speedialling entries that is more than normal. There is also an added bonus of GOOGLE maps which beening playing with. FAO: Chris who needs a stylus try amazon.co.uk or ebay. Still a great phone without a stylus.

no it doesn’t have flash but to be honest if you only take the occasional snap you dont need it really, but the phone is awesome, i bought the Viewty first and didn’t like how unresponsive the touch screen was, so i changed it for the tocco light and i am so glad i did, its such a good little phone, so easy to use, texting is a breeze as is finding someones number in the phone book. so i am well impressed, go and buy it today. its ace.

Ok I’ve spoken to samsung ref the stylus and the bottom line is they don’t have one and would not advise using any other stylus than the one for this exact phone (which as mentioned does not exist) I still think the phone is brilliant but have to question why they would make a phone with handwriting recognition but make it impossible to use it, it would also help when going through the menu’s as my hands are not small it is difficult to make the correct selection everytime. Not trying to make the phone sound bad I would give it a 9/10 just saying it would have been a 10 had they finished it!

I found this.
So i’ve started using a DS lite Stylus and it works fine.
They’d only say use the exact stylus for the phone to make you buy a Samsung one.
But seeing as it does have handwriting recognition they should have supplied a built in one, like on the LG Cookie.

Go to the menu, applications and then bluetooth. There should be a picture of a phone with a bluetooth sign on it in a blue circle with a circle pattern behind? You simply click on the picture of the phone and should get the message ‘Bluetooth deactivated’. I hope that helps!:)

I have bought tocco lite for nearly a month and I am very happy. I was confusing with viewty and cookie but I decided to wait and it’s worth waiting. The touch interface is quit good although there is no stylus. The only problem with this is that we cannot use writing recognition effectively but I usually do not use it anyway.

The thing I personally don’t like is there is no flash and the arrow symbol at the central button (the advertisement misleads as there’s no such symbol). Also, because it’s new there’s no case that fit the phone. I bought universal shield film to stick on it but it requires a neat hand to do that. And sticking the film does reduce the responsiveness of the screen a bit, but not much.
The internet is only a bit slow but using only checking email and facebook are acceptable. I also like that for privacy you can set password before getting to your files.
Do recommend for those who want to try their first touchphone.

I got this phone two weeks ago – It is amazing and I love it. It looks a lot more expensive that the Cookie! It is also easy to use (apart from getting the back off). It isn’t at all necessary to have a stylus, the touchscreen is amazingly responsive to fingers, and I hardly make mistakes – it just takes a bit of practice. Camera is also good quality, even if your hand shakes. The phone is so loud I can’t hold it to my ear in calls, despite turning it down. Ringtones can also be extremly loud. Music and other stuff (including PDF book files) can be downloaded onto the phone without even installing the software. Battery life is also great – it has only needed one charge so far, and I spend hours on it (however, it took 25 hours to full charge the first time!). No real problems – would have been great to have a standard headphone jack, but these ones are fine. Would give this phone 9.9999999 out of 10. My favourite phone I have ever had!

got the phone and im realy impressed, a few things though i found not to good when i got the phone home i tried to install driver for handset which was impossible, then i found that when on a voice call the person on the other end would lose all voice and hang up thinking that i had hung up on them, took phone back thinking it was a faulty but the new phone is doing exactly the same thing now if i want it sorted ive got to get the damn thing sent away to be repaired……. smart !!! hopefully its a problem with 02 which can be easily resolved but i can’t ring customer services to get it sorted hmmmmm !

I have been looking on the carphonewarehouse website recently as i have been wanting a touchscreen phone!! At first i was gunna get the Lg Viewty but i have been told it’s rubbish so i looked at some other ones in that price range and i found this one i was really pleased as i liked the look of the phonee and i liked the colour of it PINK!! Also it is very cheap for £119.95 but £129.95 wen you buy it with a ten pound top up i have also been reading up on reviews on and ther hasnt beem that many bad ones so i am quite happy with that. Also like people have been saying it doesnt have a flash i think it has one but it is a bulit in one and only goes of in the dark!! Also 2 of my mates av this fone and they sed it is really good. And it is also better than the Lg Cookie Therr Crapp(N)!! So I Cant Wait To Get This One!!

I bought 2 of these phones on 21st June from Carphone warehouse on virgin.. excellent phone for its money but MAJOR PROBLEM.. the audio whilst on calls cuts off several times during each call.. each cut off lasts for 2 to 30 seconds.. its like ive pressed the mute button.. its really really annoying to hear the other person say “HELLO … HELLO.. ARE U THERE?” when your speaking cos they cant hear you.

I got this phone Saturday after me dad got one. Phone great apart from calls. The mic cuts off loads. Its also like being on walkie talkie on calls cause as speak the other persons phone seems to mute. The cut off is annoying cause person on other end can’t hear you. Its same on both phones we have. I tested them after being told by friends by playing music near phone. The music would just vanish loads on phone i listened through.
Gonna take it back tomorrow get refund and hope the next batch get this fixed.

My Networks homepage is displayed as blue & black text only. No images at all. Why????? I have no problems with other sites like google maps, and facebook. Orange are currently looking into it, but technical support cannot resolve it with the step by step procedures they have on screen, and all settings in my phone have been confirmed to be 100% correct.

I bought the lg cookie and decided within hours of getting it that I hated it! It is strange how a phone can affect you emotionally but now I associate it with depression ! I love the look of the tocco lite and my best friend has one…far exceeds the cookie in my opinion!…I am going to wait till the beginning of the summer holidays to buy it! =)can’t wait!!!!!

I have the Samsung Tocco F480 which I am very happy with. I’ve just noticed the Samsung Lite on phones4u website so I googled for any reviews on this phone. It seems to be a very good price compared to what I paid for the Tocco F480. I am thinking of buying this phone for a present but want to know if you are able to change the SMS ringtone to MP3′s, can someone please confirm this? Ive always had Samsung phones and on every one apart from my Tocco, I wasnt able to change the SMS tone to MP3′s, I could only use the samsung preset tones.
Also, does it have a flash?

Going to get this phone on Friday, but i was wondering about the touch-screen. Can you calibrate it? Because i have a nintendo DS and it’s really badly out of line and calibrating just doesn’t help it! and i didnt want the phone to be like that too! Can it go out of line easily? ;]

I am 13 aswell and i haven’t seen anything bad about this phone. i think this is the phone to me. i have been in the O2 shop and they have some of their phones turned on so you can test them out. the touch screen is really easy to use and also, the 3.2 mp camera is very very good. i am hoping to get the phone on saturday.

I have had this phone a couple of days and would give it 9/10. There is no stylus supplied and it’s okay saying buy one, but where would I keep it? The handwriting recognition is just a fad anyway! The organiser isn’t as good as the one I had with Nokia as it doesn’t show the tasks for the day ahead unless you actually go into the application.
I have managed to use mp3s for my ring tones but cannot find a single beep for the message tone (which I also used to use on my meeting profile as the ring tone). I will have to create one as a mp3 and use that.
One thing it does lack is the ability to time a Profile. I used to put mine on silent overnight and it would return to Normal at an allotted hour whereas on this one it has to be done manually, unless anyone knows different.
All in all its a good introduction to touch phones and I will probably upgrade once I have become accustomed to this one.

I have had the same problem, bought 2 but 1 has had to go back 3 times and has now been sent off to samsung who said it sounds like a software problem. Not happy sending a brand new phone back, but i absolutely love the one that works!

You need to copy the contact to your phone and scroll down, it will give you the option to add a photo, and then that will appear in your photo contacts

I bought this phone from CarPhoneWarehouse 3 days back (orange PAYG network), so can’t comment on its longevity qualities. But so far I’m loving it. Looks gorgeous, nice smooth curves wont dig into your hand whilst texting or playing games.
I found the thin plastic backplate can perhaps scratch a little easily, but the quality of the front anti-scratch surface over the touch screen is really excellent.
Regarding comments of voice cutting out like its on mute in phone conversations, I haven’t experienced any issues such as that with mine. Mine’s been working perfectly fine in calls.
The touch screen responsiveness does require a bit of pressure, its not feather sensitive, but I like it, typing with the qwerty mode holding sideways it detects the right key 99% of the time for me. Battery life seems ok so far. I’d definitely recommend this phone for the price.

Firstly,why don’t you all go on to a review site that lists the specs of this phone. All your questions would be answered! ITDOES NOT HAVE A FLASH!!
Secondly, why do you not read the manual? How do you turn bluetooyh off, somebody asked. Is reading the manual not an option for you?? You can read I presume??
The Viewty is superior in every way- 5 megapixel camera, proper flash, slow motion video, instant uploading to You Tube and great battery. Those that say it is rubbish probably mean “it’s a bit big” or they are a teenage girl who puts looks over features. I mean, try getting free skype calls on a Tocco Lite!!
Finally, why the hell don’t you all learn to spell? Some of you don’t even know the difference between “too” and “to” or between “there” and “they’re”. We’re talking primary school level English here folks! You can’t really take someone seriously when all they can put is “Dis fone iz da best, innit?” can you? You’re all thick.Get an education before you start worrying about phones.

i have had the same problem i love the phone great features, but when im on a call, people cant hear me, they said its like im turning the MIC on and of…..im too with o2, carephone warehouse have sawpped it 3 times, but im still having the same problem…..i like the phone and really want it, but not sure what to do,i dont really like any other phone, they dont really compare to the tocco lite

i have had the exact same problem….my boyfriend said its like im turning the mic on and off….i love the phone, but it is so annoying, i too bought it from carephone warehouse on virgin, ive been back 3 times and theyve given me a brand new one each time, i got my third one yesterday, but its still not working, however im planning on going to a different branch…maybe ill have better luck with a diff batch of phones….

my mum just bought this phone for me, really happy as mine is broke atm. can anyone tell me how many songs you can hold on the internal memory ? (50MB).
Also i read on a website that with the calls ending like the mic going on and off is a fault with O2 and it can be fixed. i bought mine on orange so hopefully this wont be an issue.

Can anyone help me pleazzzzzzzzzzz. My hubbies got the Samsung S5230 and loves the phone. Personally i don’t like the fact there is no Stylus with the phone, but i have given him a ds one. But we have a problem after listening to the music player how do we turn the player off. Have tried everything, doesn’t say in the manual and it is annoying being stuck on the screen all the time.

I got this phone just today and itts really good i would recomend it to anyone although i recoment buying the screen cover so it dosent get scrached because ive heard it can get scrached easy but its just so awesome you can have hours of fun just playing with the setings and that just the setings! its just great for people who have never had a tought screen before easy to use great fetures and fully custermisable! The only thing is that it doesnot come with a styles witch is a bit sill because you would of thought they would of given you one with the handwriting recognition and all but i have heard you can buy ones that you can dangle from the phone so il probably keeop my eyes out for one of thoes or just use a nintendo stylus. apart from that its great!

Yes, i am a teenage girl and i do put looks over features, because to be quite honest, i don’t care if i can’t make ‘free skype calls’ because a phone for me and like everyone else is for photos. internet. texting. calls. if it can do that you have a suitable phone. i do not want to be seen carrying an old Nokia from about 10 years ago, do you ? Cause’ you sure can’t make skype calls on that !!

I’m not judging, because your review was quite fair and I don’t know which model Nokia you used to have. Nokia’s are generally quite good, but a lot of your review compares the Tocco Lite to your old phone. The Tocco Lite is a budget phone and I think you have bought it expecting too much of it.
I always find it easier to become accustomed to a phone if I don’t compare it to my previous handset too much (although, looking at my Sony Ericsson covered in sellotape at the moment, I don’t think that will be too difficult when I buy my new Tocco Lite next weekend…)

I’m on vodafone and since ive had this phone, (22nd july 09) i havnt had any of my calls cut off at all, i got mine from carphone warehouse..but i have noticed that it is very difficult to get a decent signal with t mobile, so i reccomend vodafone.

I got the Tocco Lite after losing my old phone, a Viewty. Although the Tocco looks more stylish than the Viewty at first glance, it really doesn’t compare at all. The Viewty is far superior in nearly every way .. I’m sorry now that I didn’t shell out the extra €40 it would have cost to replace my old phone exactly.
The Tocco’s lack of a stylus is irritating, it took me ages to get the back cover off, the menus and navigation are clumsy looking and unattractive, the camera is terrible, the message tones aren’t loud enough.
The Viewty, my first touchscreen, took a while to get used to, but once I did, it was an amazing phone — the camera was practically digital camera quality, the navigation was simple, elegant and easy, the different ways to write messages well laid out, even predictive spelling was so much smoother.
If you’ve never had a touchscreen, then doubtlessly, you’ll love the Tocco. If you’ve had better, then don’t go near it. It’s clumsy and amateurish in comparison to the smooth and advanced Viewty. I know that’s why I personally regret buying the Tocoo — the Viewty is impossible to follow.

i am tempted to buy this phone. Although i have noticed A LOT of you mentioning about the calls dropping out on O2. I am with O2, with a contract ‘thing’ and i want to stay with them. You all say you have brought the phones from carphone warehouse. Are they selling bad batches, has anyone brought the phone from the O2 store themselves? i had the viewty before this phone and i cant agree less with you, Yeah the highlight of the viewty is the camera which tbh is quite good, but the predictive on the viewty is quite terrible and the touchscreen is so un predictable. the screen for the viewty has scratched so much aswell and i used the viewty stylus. alsobecaus i got a faulty charger with the viewty i had to buy a new one, which everytime i plug in swipes all my wallpapers and screensavers and ring tones. i also dislike when i am at the gym and want to time me rowing and the viety has no timer. many things about this phone just iritate me. This phone is meant to be a camera phone, why doesn’t it have a lense cover like the sony erricson cybershot or nokia N95. ALSO the battery life and amount of messages the viewty store is quite frankly pathetic. allright phone to have. I got it when it first came out. Just hoping the new viewty is an improvement. Viewty smart i think.

Hi all,
I have just got a few questions about the Tocco Lite.
- When you turn the phone onto it’s side, do you then get a QWERTY keyboard? I heard from some guy in the O2 shop that you only get a keypad like on a normal phone.
- Does the phone have a camera flash? That is not of great importance, as I do not tend to take loads of photos. I take more videos.
- What is the handwriting recognition application like? I am not totally sure what it is, so can anyone tell me?

-the handwriting recognition is basically where u actualy write the letter on the screen instead of tapping a button, in my opinion it takes a bit long, i prefer qwerty texting.

I have a phone sock and look after it really well, but it still looks like it’s a year or so old after a few days!! Pretty dissapointed as it cost me 100 pounds and i saved for ages!! 7/10

I have had 3 of these mobiles and they all had the same problem, when i was on the phone it kept cutting out? and it left me screaming saying HELLO!?!?! I could hear what people was saying but they couldnt hear me for a couple of seconds. My Mum also had 5 of them and they did all the same problem… but if you can cope with the hello hello hello business its a lovely phone. Hi, I have the LG Chocolate right now and I’ve had it for just over a year now. Its had so many problems and if finally falling apart, so my mum said I can choose a new phone for Christmas. I REALLY want the Tocco Lite but I’m not sure how good it will be. It will be my first touch screen phone, because the Chocolate only has a few touch-buttons which isn’t quite the same. I’m a bit worried that if I get it, it may be hard to use, although I could just use one of my DS styluses…
Also, in a couple of reviews, it says that the Tocco Lite doesn’t have a flash on the camera? I thought it was meant to, can anyone who has this phone tell me if it actually has a flash? Because a flash is something that I really want on a phone, and while some reviews say it has one, others say it doesn’t and I’m quite confused. :S
Also, anyone just tell me how good or bad this phone is and the good/bad points of it, because I really want to make this phone last! Lol

well it has a slot for one. but you will need to buy it separately if you want one. you can get them from carphone warehouse or something if you go in and say what phone its for, coz they have to be compatible with the tocco lite.

I did buy the Samsung Tocco Lite on Virgin network but unfortunately had to send it back to the server as I found it difficult to find a decent signal.
I am, however, getting it delivered again tomorrow but on Orange network this time and I’m hoping the network problem will be better.
The contract I will be on is a 24 month one. Do you think this phone will last 2 years?

yes you will get an orange sim card with it, as long as on the website it definitely says it is Orange. (Check that you’re not just buying the phone with no sim card, because sometimes they sell ‘sim-free’ phones, which is where you just buy the phone and then go out when you like and choose a network and buy a sim card from there.) Yes you will still get all the advantages.

This is a amazing phone, it has everything, I love the way you can text, its so quick and easy to use, now my mum wants one! It has so much on it like the mobile tracker (if someone steals it and puts their simcard in it, it will text the people you have chosen it to text and they will have that number, then you can take it to the police station) or the fake call where it looks like someones calling you but its you (to get out of stick situations) and you can record you own message so it sounds like you talking to someone. The cameras not the best but its o.k., you can even take a panorama shot. The music players good, doesnt sound rubish, you can put a memory card in. I really love this phone, its the best phone ever, I would recomend it to anyone, much better than the original tocco. Get it!!!!

Hi, I am from Malta and I can’t understand how a friend of mine went to Carphone in UK and bought the S5230 for only £110 and it can be used with any network. As he bought three, two are using Go Mobile and one Vodaphone. As I know carphone mobiles are locked and if it was simfree why is it that cheap? Hi, I have just purchased the Tocco Lite from Tmobile shop and the cost was £78.20 on PAYG, I thought this was a great price, they also have it at the orange shop for £79.00. This phone has an automatic flash that comes on when needed ie: night time or if it is a bit dull.I have played around with my phone and think it was well worth what I paid. I seem to have a problem with the photo I am using for my wallpaper it is massive, does any one know how I can reduce it too fit, also is there a zoom on the camera.

This phone is the best EVER! I bought it yesturday xD
If your trying 2 pick a network 2 use the phone on use tesco direct is suprisingly really good, I havent had any problems with the network yet! xx
The only problems are that there is no flash, no stylus (but im not really bothered if there isnt a stylus, i’ll just buy 1 off ebay or something), and the earphones arent that good. When I took the earphones out of the box they had 1 side longer than the other if you get what I mean and I couldnt adjust it :S The radio thing is great, good quality sound! I really recommend this phone if you havent had a touch screen phone before

It seems that the dropping of calls is primarily a 02 issue, if you reset your settings and set your network to GSM 900/1800 this should help.

i bought this fone a month ago and it isnt very good at all. the camera is crap it may as well be 1 mega pixel becuz i cudnt even see it was that dark on the picture. the texting is crap it keeps writin letter that i havent even typed in and it keeps spellin my words for me
i advise u NOT to buy this phone .

hi. ive just bought the same phone today. to change the text tone click on settings, then phone profiles, then normal . when the arrow comes up at the top click it and a list should fall down. choose new messages. i hope that helps??? now can anyone help me with the wallpaper function? i just want one of my photos as my wallpaper but i cant get it tight!! help!!!!!
and also, are there any other good tips for using it? thanks

Thanks so much Sarah for answering Steven’s question about changing the message tone. I only got the phone yesterday and spent so long trying to change it to avoid having the same standard tone as a lady in my office. Afraid I can’t help with the wallpaper – haven’t even tried that yet, but I am gradually getting to know the phone and think it will be good. I especially like the big screen, it is so clear and easy to read incoming texts. Cheers

yes to both questions frankie. i have just bought a stylus pen… (95p plus £1.95 from amazon) and it works great..in fact i find it easier. and also it attaches to the same place where you can hang your phone charm so i no the answer is yes to that to. i bought the phone last tuesday and i absolutely love it. ive also got a cover from amazon so i no its safe when i drop it lol.

ive got a cover from amazon.. think it was about 3.50 delivered with the screen protecter. i love it, i’ve dropped it so many times already and no marks at all:). as for the o2 logo i don’t get it..my dad has the same phone in black but can’t get rid of his logo but i can. i just click it and send it to the sidebar on the left hand side. i don’t no why it works on mine but not his so this might be no help.

I have had this phone for about 3 months now & it is the best phone I have ever had!
I have no problem with the headphones, they’re great but make sure not to lose them.
You can see the screen very brightly, even in sunlight.
It is SOOO much easier to text with the QWERTY keyboard once the phone is turned.
If you want a stylus pen (I’ve got one although it isn’t necessary) you can buy them on a charm that atatches to your phone.
I love taking pictures, I can send them quickly with Bluetooth, put them on my microSD card, set them as my wallpaper or put them on my computer.
The video recorder is great fun
My friends with the lg cookie are VERY jealous!
This phone is made for the internet, & with T-mobile if you top up £10 every month you get free texts and internet for life!
This phone is like having a mini laptop in my opinion, definitely the best touch screen phone I’ve had.

mine come with headphones yeah. i have bought a silicone case for mine which is great…when i drop it, it just ‘bounces’ and doesnt affect the phone, using one of them and a screen protector i’ve had mine 2 months now with not a mark on it. removing your phone logo doesnt always work like that though either, my dad has the same phone and his logo won’t move yet mine will. i think it depends what network your on really

There is no stylus but DS stylus work fine or there £1 on amazon and no flash but once you use it more you will get used to still amazing with a 3.2 megapixel camera it makes your friends jealous showed it to them today i was talk of the school am 11 kid jenuis love the fone would not reccomend it on vodafone coz 02 is a little bit better for phoning and dont get an lg cookie the screen stops not very reative if u want a touch screen phone this is the best there are only minor falts like stylus pen back cover and hand writing so i had an lg cookie but do not get one there shit hope i helped if anyone wants to know anything writ it

frankie—-the phone allows you to test the games out for a few minute but then it tells you you have to buy them to continue. not sure how much they are but they arent very good games anyway to be honest.
lewist thomas– to change the sound and vibrate of click on settings. then phone profiles. then click on the arrows at the top next to normal. then tap the dropdown bar at the top of the page and click phone sounds. you can change your settings from there. hope that helps???i can try explain better if your confused.
jessica– using the usb cable is really easy. you just plug it in and it starts up itself

If you press dow on th top of the back of the fone as push the back towards the bottom of the fone the back should come off. I tried also for 45 mins as sales rep didnt show me how :/
No stylus but my ds lite one works great but got no where to store it near the fone lol.
My first touchscreen fone and its bril. I jus can’t seem to get it to connect to the pc suite properly. It shows the fone but wont let me connect it and takes ages to register the password then asks me to reset the fone and suite?? I am very confused with this and the help section doesnt mention anything about problems with connection!!

one weird thing ive noticed about the mystery stylus!
The picture on the side of my box i got with it shows a side shot of the phone with a physical stylus slot and the tip of a stylus showing at the top but when you look at the phone its not got it anywere??

tocco lite does not have flash, does not have the little pencil thing what ever its called and you can use the earfhones from a genio touch,i have had my tocco lite for a while now and it seems ok.can be a pain sumtimes.i just use my brothers earphones from his samsung genio touch.the earphones are 2 piece so u can un-plugg them and plug in the good earfhone= extra bass eaphones.only problem im having now is i have baught a 4gb memory card ,its showing on the fone that i have 1 in the phone but when i try and send a song to my phone it says phone memory full.i have gone into my memoy status,i click on memory in top right had corner and shows i have a huge amount of free memory.i have also noticed to unuaual files when i go on files ,the 2 are SThumbDB.tdb and store(daf1fd16410….. when i click on them it says unsupported file type.i ask the person who sold me the memory card n he says its something to do with samsung.also i have gone onto settings>memory settings>memory card details>when i have gone on there its comes up with details .name = NO NAME and it will come up with bluetooth visability .i have clicked on but still no success.now after my big long speech i hope i get some where .could some one please help ,thankss

also the back cover push hard the way the arrow is showing,it wont brake.looks like your gunna damage the camera but it wont.same as putting it back on.just make sure you get the little plastic parts in before u push……

sat here and read nearly every ones post,its doin my fuckin head in tbh sorry and i dont mean to be rude but why is there ppl sayin im buyin the fone in a couple ov days and putting up stupid posts.the fone is a pretty good fone in my oppinion.also to a post i seen about texts and how its shit .learn how to use the fone before you slag it off.maybe if you changed it and didnt have it on t9 predictive txts then you mite find it easier.you do this by holding the t9 button when writing a txt and it will change at the top .ABC abc t9.this suppose to be a helpfull forum and there to meny awkward questions.also charge the fone for roughly 12 or so hours………

U looking for info i can tell u. if u want the bluetooth of go menu applications bluetooth, then click on phone pic in middle.The internet is soo simple 2 use, and im only 11.And i use it like nintendo ds lite when i touch it, lol. The best network around to be on is orange world. i got mine from carphone warrhouse, BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

You turn the key tone down by pressing the button on the side the phonr, (a dial will come on the screen for volume), this is for keytones only and will not affect call/message tone levels.
As for the flash ppl keep moaning about I set my camera to night mode and the picture came out really clear, better than my old samsung that did have a flash. So think it just alters the shutter or something to enable clarity on night time shots.
Message tone can be changed to mp3 by going to menu/ settings/ phone profile, click arrows then at top it shows incoming, drop this box down and change to new messages then you can choose mp3 by going to sounds.
All in all I LOVE THIS PHONE !!!!!!!

erm…Well Firstly I Want This Phone But i just want to make sure everything is perfect! I want to no if the memory for the music is good.:)

I’ve had this phone for about 4 months now and haven’t had any problems really. It’s really difficult to get the back off when first bought but once you finally get it off (took me over an hour!) and put the battery in it’s easy & that shows you that the back won’t just slip off!
I’ve dropped it many times and not even a scratch, the touch is very responsive and texting is a breeze, the only problem i have is that you cannot read recieved texts while in a call
And Jez, it takes an 8GB SD Card, i have one in mine

and i’d advise anyone who buys this phone to buy a leather flip case, i’ve decorated mine so it’s unique and it cleans and buffs your screen whilst protecting it

i would like to say this phone is amazing it all easy to use…. my phone has been drop everywere and there is no scratch on it what so ever…. it had quite a bit of memory with a memory card well i havent not got one and there 8 songs on there and lots of meomry left !!! lol…
but i would advise you to get this phone !!!

I’ve had this phone for almost a month, was deciding between a few different phones and in the end chose this one becuase of the music player qualitys.
It is an overall excellent phone, if you havent owned a touch screen phone before then the text will take a little getting used to, but once i’d had my phone for two weeks i found texting was as fast as on my old phone (sony errikson w810i). The camera and media items on this phone are excellent and the widgets make using the phone easier and faster. I purchased a 8gb memorycard with my phone and even with over 300 songs on it, the phone did not slow down! calls on this phone are simple and clear (im with orange).
On thing i would say is that if you are looking to buy this phone i wouldnt suggest going to carphone warehouse – from looking at other peoples reviews, the models purchased from there failed to work and also from personal experiance, i was treated extreemly rudely by members of staff whilst enquiring about this phone. after the bad experiance i chose to buy my phone from phones4U and was treated as a valued customer as well as saving £80 that i would have spent on this phone! (apparently once you have been on contract with orange for 4 months you are entitled to a free handset… news to me!), the people there were lovely and helped me a lot with choosing this phone!
Overall this phone looks great and works really well, i would definately recommend it!

i had my phone last september and its amazing. everything works really good. but on the home page the o2 sign is on the screen and i cannot move it. all of my friends who have this phone can move theirs but they are not on o2. is it just because im on o2 because i cant move it? x

Can’t understand why you all like this phone so much! I think the layout leaves a lot to be desired the touch screen is unresponsive and really annoying with the text almost unusable its so badly thought out. Please people get some self respect and demand a little more before handing over your hard earned cash on something that is all looks and no brains! Especially as it goes wrong all the time has no flash and you cant change text tone. overall I would say if you are over 15 and actually require more from your mobile than keeping up with apperancies either save for longer and get something that has had some thought put into the design or save your cash and get a £10 phone that at least will make and receive calls. I give it 0/5.

emily, i am on o2 and i can move my o2 logo. however my dad is also using this phone on o2 and he can’t move the logo. thats one thing that has baffled us since we both got the phone!! i’ve had this phone since november and i love it!! …oh and in repsonse to dontwasteyourcash!’s comment above – you can change the text tone!!!!

does any one else have probems with the battery life, o had to bring one back cause after the first full charge, my phone was dead with in 4 hours, with only one phone called made and 2 texts sent.
same thing has happered with my replacement phone also,
wordering if its a commom problem, cause all reviews ive read on the net have been very good,
stating that it can last for up to, 10 hours talk time and 500 on stand by,

Hi Everyone i wanted a touch screen mobile but im thinking is it worth it “people are saying when someone tries to call you it is like your phone is muted you cant hear their voice i think that fault is on some tocco lites thats why dont know if it is worth it please leave a comment ThankYou WILL I REGRET IT??

i have this file on there when i added my memory card it called STumbDB.tdb and i dont know how to delete the file becuse i put it in the laptp and deleted it off there and the phone still has the file on the phone and it is unproteced

All i can say is it is the bestest phone i have everr had its easy to use and the back and baterry r well easy to get off so dont worry its a very good phone the speakr for rhe music is very loud ! the only problem is there is no flash thats it . i would reccomend this phone to anyone

I have brought the Samsung Tocco Lite today as i have had a cookie for around 6 months and i have found it to not be up to standard. It is constantly freezing and can be slow at response.

I cant move the network banner im on o2 and ive tried a milion times to pick it up and drag it to the widget bar but it wont move! Its doing my nut in!! Any help at all? Otherwise i love this phone

Hey there,
I’ve had the tocco lite for nearly a year and NEARLY everything is great.
Two things though:
1. Where is the zoom for the camera? I’ve failed to find mine after all my days of searching
2. Which is probably the phones biggest default…Is there anyway that when your battery is low it doesn’t have to beep or vibrate? The beep is especially loud and the vibrate is quite annoying and both unnecessarily frequent…I am sure there’s a way of having no sound but can’t figure it out-even when I have incoming phone sounds and messages muted it beeps for low battery or on vibrate for incoming calls it vibrates for low battery-I just don’t want any sounds
Please can someone help?
Other then that it’s a great phone with an exceptional battery life—but when the battery does go I know all about it
