This is not a review. Just mentioning the specification in paragraphs. Even the specs are mostly wrong and mis-leading. You should stop this kind of low life, cheating reviews.

  3. mjw Says:

I have to agree with the previous poster. This is not a review. Did you even put it in water? Did you even have one to put in water?

  4. Alex Says:

Crap review, great phone. If you can live without using the internet much and actually use your phone for PHONING people then it’s great.

I did drop my phone into a water bath at work recently, and I was a bit worried in case it was all hype. I needn’t have worried though – everything still works perfectly.

So yeah, the screen’s a bit poor, browser’s all but non-functional, but I can call, text and get my email with no problems and I know that it isn’t going to break. Ever. Love it!

  5. Matt Says:

Useless. Did you just read the Samsung site? Did you use it? Did you try and break it? WHAT did you do?

  6. PNB Says:

Just got mine yesterday. Like the robustness and external feel. Kind of combines the best of the Nokia weatherproof phones without the disadvantages. Auto keylock is good too, except it locks too soon. Menu is a bit crap and texting is much less user-friendly than my previous Nokias and Sony Ericssons. Also shocked to be told that one of my texts was ‘too long to go as one text’ and would have to be sent in two halves! How crap is that?!

hey i have had this phone for a few months now! it great im a sailing instructor, and water sports enthusiast, i have broken 2 other phones, this one is great- it lives in my pocket, it spends hours in salt water- undewater getting knocked about. its great the lock time can be ajusted. dosn’t break, no water leakage, not a fault to have with it and the rubber casing is not slipery when wet like it is with other so called wterproof phones. the battry life is good i charge it once a week and dont turn it off. its vey good!

Is is Quad / Tri / Dual band? does it have 3g? GPS? What kind of applications does it have? YOUR REVIEW TELLS ME NOTHING OTHER THAN HOW NICE IT LOOKS

LOL THIS IS A PRETTY PHONE WE ARE REVIEWING IT LOL

  10. Helen Tingle Says:

My Husband is a builder and has to change his phone every couple of months but he bought the Solid extreme and yes it is a basic phone but it does everthing you need and it hasnt broken yet and he’s had about 4 months which for us is a miracle

  11. Micky A Says:

I have the old solid extreme and im due an upgrade next month,i will not hesitate to order the new solid extreme as im so pleased with the old one. Im an electrician and work in very dirty and dusty places but the phone has come through all the challenges i have thrown at it, totally recommend this phone if all you want is a phone that dose the basics and dose not break.

  12. steve Says:

i have had this phone for about a year now and have dropped in in water number of times and yes it still works great but the thing i am have problems with is the bluetooth on it, when i yours any handfree kit the phone will turn itselfs off and back on when i make a call, have taken it back a number of times but i am up to about 4 phones now but they all do the same so have given up on the bluetooth part because you can’t have it all.

  13. Jason Says:

Spitting back out marketing material and spec sheet is not a review.

    This would be a review….

I’ve owned one of these for a few months now. Good solid phone. I ran it under the tap for the hell of it and it still works. Haven’t gone diving with it. I’ve dropped it on the floor countless times and it still works. The built in flash is nice. I use that feature almost daily. The browser sucks but I didn’t buy expecting it to be a smart phone. I bought it as my future backup phone and the phone I toss my sim card in when I go kayaking. This phone is marketed, I think, toward India. Do people in India ever use contractions or possessive nouns when the write? Phases like: Don’t be late or That’s Sally’s car. I ask because when typing a text message you have to stop and change the text input mode to symbol to enter an apostrophe. With other common symbols like : ()?! you just hit the 1 key while texting. Odd like and the lack of built in 3.5mm headphone jack are my only disappoints with a otherwise good phone for what it is.

  14. r.longden Says:

has it got voice activated calls ?

  15. joyce Says:

I have been supplied one of these phones in work and I can honestly say it is one of the worst phones I have had! I don’t need a waterproof heavy duty chuck around and get it mucky phone so i don’t need to comment on how robust it may or may not be but i can definitely comment on how UNuser-friendly the settings are…nightmare to text, doesn’t appear to have basic settings for switching the text alert tone off whilst the phone incoming calls remain active, doesn’t appear to have a loud speaker, i find the keys a pain and the whole set up unfriendly so I will not be using it! I have bought myself a cheap nokia to use instead and this one gets tossed to the back of the drawer hopefully never to be seen until my employer is ready to upgrade phones again in about 3 yrs or so.
If I have made any incorrect comments and someone out there knows different then I applaud you for persevering with this gadget and wish you the best of luck. Oh..I guess it isn’t bad to look at (always provide at least one positive statement!)

  16. Craig Says:

Try reading the manual Joyce, there is a speaker. All the things you want to do are controlled by the Profile. You can set up how the message indicator sounds (or doesn’t) without affecting the incoming call tones.

I’ve just come from another phone and it all seems pretty basic and simple to me. The only issue I have is that business with the apostrophe. I even took it back to the shop and they couldn’t work out how to get it without going into the symbol menu.

Apart from that it does exactly what I want, looks and feels tough and should survive my mountain biking!

  17. Bob Says:

My B2100 switches off in my pocket even when keylock is enabled because my clothing pushes all the keys (naturally) so the phone is off when i go to use it. Nobody else seems to report this problem. Cant find answer in manual. any help out there?

  18. whizzbang Says:

I find it a horrid phone as well – yes it survives a war, but its not user-friendly, setting up simple stuff like alarms is overly complicated and the music player is a massive rip-off: what kind of a music player takes all your albums and shuffles the songs alphabetically?! You can’t change that. Besides is anyone else having a problem with incoming calls not showing the callers name? Any way of fixing it?
