The release of this new Samsung phone means that firstly we have to clear up some confusion, we first reported that the S7220 was to be called the Eltz, however it seems that the manufacturer changed this just days before release and named it the Lucido – as if eltz was not hard enough to remember!

The Samsung Lucido is the exact same phone, just a different model name for the UK, it has now been launched on O2 pay monthly contract deals in the UK with further network releases expected over the coming days.

The Samsung S7220 has been released alongside the Samsung Tocco Ultra and offers a very similar finish to the external casing with a brushed metal effect, although not as feature packed as the Tocco Ultra the Samsung Lucido is looked upon as the candy-bar cousin and demand a far cheaper price tag.

The Samsung S7220 or Lucido has finally arrived as a contract phone. This Samsung has had more name changes than Prince. It also goes by the Eltz, S7220 Ultra b or Ultra Classic. Now Samsung have kept the style nice and simple it is a great looking bar shape measuring only 11.8mm thick and weighing only 90g, and what Samsung have managed to put into such a small body is incredible.

The Samsung S7220 has great metal detailing giving it a quality feel. The keypad on the S7220 is fantastically spaced out so even sausage fingers like me have no trouble texting with the phone. The Samsung Lucido has all the latest gadgets. EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth and HSDPA technologies are all present to provide a great quality of service as well as a speedy one especially when on the web.

The entertainment on this phone is fantastic. A great 5 MP camera with autofocus and Samsung have really gone up a notch in their music players lately, the Lucido being no different being able to support MP3, AAC, WMA files and a FM radio. The S7220 will also let you use your MP3’s as ringtones easy as pie. And with the microSD card slot you can have up to 16GB of memory to store it all on.
