The LG Arena and the LG Cookie is the latest feature packed additions to LGs touch screen smart phone series.
Hardware
The LG Arena’s metallic case has dimensions of 105.9mmX55.3mmX12mm whereas the plastic casing of the LG Cookie has vital statistics of 107mmX55mmX12mm; hence both have almost the same size. But the LG Cookie weighs only 89 grams in contrast to the LG Arena’s 105 grams so it’s easier to carry around.
While the km900 Arena is available in silver only the kp500 Cookie comes in black, silver, gold, brown and white hues. The touch screens of both phones measure 3 inches. Both handsets have an accelerometer to facilitate auto rotation and both have hand writing recognition attribute.

Multimedia Features
The LG Arena has superior multi media features when compared to the LG Cookie. It has a 5 Mega pixel camera with auto focus which towers over the LG Cookie’s 3 Mega pixel camera. The LG Arena has a secondary video call camera. Although the LG Cookie has video recording capability it does not have a second camera.
Both handsets have audio and video players. But the LG Arena has superior Dolby technology for high quality sound. This technology uses surround sound effects, sound space for headphones, high frequency enhancer, sound level controller and natural bass without artificial side effects to augment your listening experience. This technology is absent in the LG Cookie.
The LG Arena also has a 3.5mm audio jack which is absent in the LG kp500 Cookie. Both phones have an FM radio, but the LG Arena in addition has an FM transmitter which allows sharing tunes on any radio. Both phones have Blue tooth connectivity and USB ports.
The internet technology adopted by the LG km900 Arena is also superior when compared to that of the LG Cookie. The LG Arena has high speed HSDPA, Wi Fi technology for high speed internet whereas these technologies are not found in the LG Cookie. While the LG Arena supports both Email and Instant Messaging the LG Cookie supports only Email.

Other Facets
The LG Arena has a new 3D interface whereas the LG Cookie sports a simple user friendly interface. The Arena is powered by a 1000 mAh Li-ion battery whereas the LG Cookie uses a 900 mAh Li-ion battery. The Arena has a standby time of 300 hours while the Cookie’s standby time is 350 hours. The Arena has a talk time of 3 hours 50 minutes whereas the Cookie features a talk time of 3.5 hours.
The LG KM900 has a prodigious memory of 8GB expandable further by 16GB. The 24GBs come in handy to store images and music tracks in this media centric device. The LG KP500 has a lesser memory of 48MB expandable further by 8GB only. Both handsets have document viewers consisting of Word, Excel, Power Point and PDF. Both handsets support voice memo too.
The LG Arena’s prowess in all respects is far greater than the LG Cookie and it emerges as a sure winner. The LG Cookie is a simple camera and touch screen mobile phone suitable for non tech savvy users on a budget.
