Sony Ericsson W595 Sakura – Sony W595 Sakura Review – W 595 Walkman Sakura Edition
Sony Ericsson W595 Sakura Review:
People in the Research and Development labs of Sony Ericsson have probably realized that just like all the major players in the market mobile phones are now evolving into a be-all gadget. Consumers are now wary of carrying dozens of different gadgets in their pockets and want a simple and compact solution to all their needs.
The mobile phone industry is responding to this demand by churning out latest models with capabilities of small computers. However, it seems that Sony Ericsson has decided to concentrate on some particular features and make them stand out in the milieu of other features and the offerings of the competitors. Therefore for all those music lovers out there, who want their music unadulterated and uninhibited, the W595 Walkman series by Sony Ericsson seems to be the perfect solution.
After a slow and uneventful 2007, Sony Ericsson is again ready with W595 and its new colour variant the Sakura Edition. With this phone they have achieved what they set out to do with their Walkman Series. The phone plays music and it plays it loud. There are built-in speakers located at the bottom and top of the phone that are surprisingly loud and clear. The phone also comes with a share jack. It is an interesting solution for those who want to share their music with friends and family by plugging in two sets of headphones. To top that this new model offers a unique colour scheme, Sakura means Cherry Blossom in Japanese and Sony Ericsson have given this new W595 a makeover including cherry colours flowers on the front and rear of the phone.
The Sony Ericsson W595 Sakura edition offers the exact same feature set found in the rest of the range of W595 Walkman phones, it simply changes the colour of the exterior casing and back of the slide to match its new model name.

The Cool Factor
Sony Ericsson has paid great attention in making the music-listening experience a complete delight. The Sony W595 Sakura has a circular navigational key, just like your regular iPod. The software is easy-to-use and let you manage playlist, shuffle, etc. The phone has an interesting feature called “Shake Control”. It automatically changes track with the flick of the hand. When the phone is shaken, the software randomly chooses a song from the current playlist and vibrates once to let you know that the track has been changed.
The camera is also quite efficient; however, at times you may wonder why they missed out on incorporating a flash. The Sony W595 is available in an array of colours to choose from and is quite high on style quotient. To keep with the spirit of the device the colors have been appropriately named as Sony Ericsson W595 Cosmopolitan White, Jungle Grey, Active Blue and Lava Black aswell as the new T-Mobile exclusive Pink edition. The phone also sports a secondary camera for your video calls. What more can you expect in your handset?
