October 9, 2008

The new Nokia Navigator mobile phone has now been launched as a Pay As You Go handset, after first being released on Vodafone contract deals consumers can now buy the 6210 Navigator without having to commit to a lengthy pay monthly tariff agreement.

This is also good news for those that would love to own a Nokia 6210 but struggle to get past the stringent network credit checks, these customers can now simply buy the phone and top-up their calling credit when needed.

The pay as you go Nokia 6210 Navigator is also great as a present, because the handset does not have to be registered when purchased consumers can give the phone as a gift and the lucky recipient can register the phone later.

The Nokia 6210 Navigator is the first GPS enabled phone from Nokia to include an integrated compass, for pedestrian guidance. The 6210 Navigator also comes with Nokia maps 2.0 which offers different map views, including a satellite image view and a hybrid view, too. There is also a new pedestrian option, allowing you to use the mobile phone as a handheld navigation device whilst travelling on foot. Away from the navigation options, the Nokia 6210 also supports HSDPA Mobile Broadband, has a 3.2 megapixel camera, MP3 player and FM radio.

With built in GPS you can use the Nokia 6210 to locate your position, plan your journey, and as a general Sat Nav device, when used in conjunction with compatible mapping software.

A-GPS is a network service that can locate your position to within 100 metres by using a clever technique called triangulation. By sending a signal to three cell masts, A-GPS will work out your location by the location of the cells and your distance from them. When combined with a GPS enabled phone, the addition of A-GPS enables a faster GPS satellite lock.
