The new Nokia 5000 has now been launched in Purple as a Pay As You Go mobile phone, joining the recently released Blue and Green editions the Purple / Violet Nokia 5000 offers exactly the same great features, design and technology in a budget handset but swaps the coloured accents to a funky purple and the exterior casing from black to white.

The Nokia 5000 is a great value slimline mobile phone in a white casing with purple highlights.

Featuring a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, video recording, FM radio, Opera mini web browser and Bluetooth, it covers all the basics. Whilst it does have a music player supporting supports MP3, AAC, WAV, ARM, MIDI formats included, with only 12Mb of built-in memory and no expansion card slot, its not a feature that would appeal to someone looking for a proper music player.

With a nice clear keypad layout and simple menu system, the Nokia 5000 Purple should appeal to a wide range of people.
