iPhone to be Released on Vodafone Across the Globe

The Apple iPhone is to be offered on Vodafone in a selection of countries around the world. Vodafone have announced that they will be selling the iPhone in Turkey, South Africa, India, Italy, Potugal, Greece, New Zealand, the Czech Republic, Australia and Egypt.

In the UK the manufacturer has singed an exclusive deal with O2 and The Carphone Warehouse so that the iPhone can only be sold on iPhone specific O2 tariffs. The 8GB version of the iPhone has already been discontinued by both parties and rumours of the new 3G version of the iPhone are now flooding the messageboards, forums and blogs.

The 16gb iPhone is still available in the UK.

    I have heard that the exclusive agreement between 3G and the iPhone is coming to an end and may then be offered to other networks, in particular Vodafone. Is there any truth is this rumour?

    the contract between 02 and apple for the iphone ends in septmeber this is when we will all find out whether or not the iphone will be availble on other networks
