mobilesukThe new Nokia 6500 Slide Black has today been released on the dedicated 3G network, 3 Mobile. This black version of the popular Nokia 6500 Slide edition has only been available on Orange for the first few weeks of its launch, so the news that consumers can now buy the black Nokia 6500 is good as the 3G network offers some of the best value for money tariffs available.
The elegant, brushed stainless-steel finish on the Nokia 6500 slide gives you an immediate feel for the quality of this handset. This is confirmed when you first open the precision-engineered, smooth slide mechanism after which the phone is named.
Nokia have equipped the 6500 slide with a 3.2MP auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a dual LED flash, so you can take great pictures, and the large 2.2″, 16 million colour TFT screen will show them at their best.
The camera also records video and, using its 2.5mm A/V jack, you can connect it directly to your television to play back your videos or put on a slide-show of your photos.
There is a secondary camera for video calling, although you might not be able to see it as it is tucked neatly away in to the top of the handset. The 3G capabilities that allow for video conferencing also make the black Nokia 6500 slide ideal for browsing the web with the Opera Mini browser, or checking your email with the built-in email client, which supports ‘push’ technology.
The Music Player can read a variety of formats including MP3, MP4, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA and, on top of the 20MB of in-built memory, you can use MicroSD cards of up to a massive 4GB, equalling the capacity of many top-brand mp3 players. Plus there is an FM Radio with RDS.
The Nokia 6500 Black supports A2DP Bluetooth 2.0 for stereo streaming to a compatible headset and features a Micro USB port for data connectivity. Add all of this together; the features; the looks; and the quality. Then throw in a Casino, Golf and 3D Rally games (more can be downloaded), plus the all usual voice-memo, calendar and built-in hands-free functions, then what you have is one very entertaining, well-rounded and great value mobile phone.
