Nokia 6301 SIM Free Phone Released
The new Nokia 6301 has now been launched as a SIM free handset, still an Orange exclusive mobile phone the advent of this handset being available as a SIM Free device makes for good news for those not wishing to sign up to a contract with the network.
The SIM Free Nokia 6301 is unlocked to all networks, just simply insert your existing sim card or purchase a pay as you go sim card to start using this upgraded version of the popular Nokia 6300.
Almost identical in design to its predecessor the Nokia 6301 has gained slightly in weight and dimensions to accomodate some additional techonology, but when you are talking a couple of grams and a millimeter here and there, it really make no odds considering its abilities as a phone.
With the success of the Nokia 6300 well underway and in full steam, Nokia have released a WiFi version of the hanset, the Nokia 6301.
With WiFi capabilities and UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access) technology you can have the benefits of both a mobile and landline in one with UMA voice calls drastically reducing call costs, improved coverage and a far greater sound quality just for starters.
Apart from the featured WLAN support, the phones memory has also be increased by more than 20MB to offer a more acceptable 30MB, however memory expansion is still an option using the microSD card slot which will give you upto 4GB capacitiy, however a 128MB memory card is included in the package.
Other mutlimedia features, apart from being a money saving device with more scope for usage even when in weak coverage areas, the Nokia 6301 is equipped with a 2 mega pixel camera, video capture & playback, MP3 Player and FM Stereo Radio.
As with the Nokia 6300, the Nokia 6301 comes with a 2 inch QVGA screen, Bluetooth Wireless and Macromedia Flash Lite 2.0 which the 6300 didn’t have.
And although the Nokia 6300 was released in a Red, White and Black variant, its looks to be that initially the only colour variant of the Nokia 6301 is Cocoa.

can someone tell me will the SIM-free 6301 work with a pay&go card? with the 6300, if on O2, they have blocked the use of certain apps with this eg the Opera browser will only work on contract.
