OK so the phone is cracked up to be tough, dustproof, shockproof and waterproof! That’s a great start….. but there is no mention of the phone’s ability to make calls, text, take pictures and, very importantly from my point of view, store information, ie. memory capacity for text and images/tunes. Does the phone take an extra memory card? If so, which one and up to what size? and what size the built in memory? Unlike the Samsung M110 Solid, there is no mention with the JCB Tough Phone as to whether it has Bluetooth capability. Any news?

    Cheers, Pete

PS Anyone heard news of the Motorola i580 Rugged Cellphone from USA for sale in the UK?
This phone is made by Sprint Nextel and Motorola. According to the manufacturer’s blurb, it is the first rugged handset that is equipped with integrated camera module and meet the military specification 810 F for rain resistance, dust-proof, shock-proof, and also vibration resistance. The i580 is also the first rugged phone with clamshell design that includes Bluetooth wireless connectivity. Sprint itself offers its Nextel Walkie-Talkie capabilities that lets users do either one-on-one, group, or off-network communication instantly with the single button touch.
    Any news anyone?

I’m sorry. Am I missing something here? IT’S A PHONE….TO MAKE PHONE CALLS WITH…IT’S NOT A CAMERA, AN MP3 PLAYER, A FECKIN’ NINTENDO OR A HP LAPTOP WITH A DVD PLAYER! If you want all that then get a phone designed for hairdressers and personal trainers. This is a phone designed for people who work (or play) in harsh enviroments where a malfunction due to a drop or accidental deluge could mean the difference between making an emergency call or not. If you want a personal stereo then buy a peronal stereo!
