iPhone Tariffs Cut By O2 – New Lower tariffs = more minutes for iPhone

O2 have announced that they are to cut the cost of the bespoke iPhone tariffs in the UK, the changes will be automatically applied to current iPhone customer accounts in March 2008.

Great news and somewhat predictable after Apple gave out vouchers to Apple iPhone 8GB customers in the US as compensation for dropping the price of the handset.

The new tariffs offer more minutes and text, the bottom iPhone tariff which costs £35 per month will give users 3 times as many text messages and free minutes to use – that equates to 600 minutes and 500 text, the current £55 per month line rental tariff is to be cut down to £45 and O2 are introducing a brand new tariff for heavy users at £75 per month which will offer 3000 minutes and 500 text.

BUT DO NOT UNLOCK YOUR APPLE IPHONE – if a customer has unlocked their iPhone they will not benefit from the reduced charges.

Doh! If some one has unlocked their iPhone its because they don’t want to be on the O2 network anyway.
